Does anyone have a decent solution for looking up addresses? Coming from Google maps I’m used to being able to put an address in. In CoMaps I get nothing in search. Really hard to use the app in that case.

Sure, I can do that. However it doesnt fix the more immediate problem which seems to be I can’t use it without also using Google Maps.

You can self host a server if you don’t want to pay to use the default server: https://git.sr.ht/~amolith/adresilo-server
It works for me, even with substrings.
It’s sometimes a bit fiddly though as adding even the tiniest bit of data that is not contained in the address as OSM knows it will invalidate the entire search.
I just want the colored hiking routes to be introduced so that I can fully switch. Without them it is a bit useless for hiking for me :(
