That’s what I don’t get about the gerontocracy. Like, he can’t be in great health. He can hear the long dark calling his name every night as he drifts off to another apnea-laden slumber. There’s no long term consequences to anything you do, so just do something goddamn fun. Say free ponies for everyone. Dump a birthday cake on Mike Johnson’s head. Anything but the status quo but dumber.

people love their symbolic bullshit like, “yeah it would be nice to see the president go to the site” what that really means is it would be nice for the airspace to be cut off and traffic to be disrupted and flights to be delayed and the investigation slowed to a crawl while the security detail disrupts everything so that a guy can look around for a few minutes and be like, “yup, some aircraft sure did crash here!”
