That isn’t completely true. Some of the EV prices will lower without the federal rebate (like BMW just did). A bunch of states still have their own rebates/credits, and CO just said they’ll increase theirs.
It’ll last a quarter, maybe two, maybe in a few states. But overall it’s not sustainable. Maybe the 70k+ EVs do a bit better as the discount was already smaller.
EVs are functionally dead in the US. Sales were already shit and now the credit is over. The only EVs that will still sell are luxury vehicles.
And how many of these sales here were from dealerships trying to extend how long they can offer the $7500 discount.
