In his stirring final speech to a United Nations General Assembly, Colombian President Gustavo Petro on Tuesday called for an international armed intervention to end Israel’s nearly two-year genocide in Gaza.

“We need a powerful army of the countries that do not accept genocide,” Petro, who is in his last year in office and is limited under Colombian law to a single presidential term, told world leaders gathered in New York. “That is why I invite nations of the world and their peoples more than anything, as an integral part of humanity, to bring together weapons and armies.”

“We must liberate Palestine,” he asserted. “I invite the armies of Asia, the great Slavic people who defeated Hitler with great heroism, and the Latin American armies of Bolívar.”

“We’ve had enough words; it’s time for Bolívar’s sword of liberty or death,” Petro argued, referring to the 19th century Latin American independence hero Simón Bolívar.

Of course, of course. Everyone is lying. The UN, Human Rights Watch, Greta Thunberg. The only source of truth: Netanyahu! He should get two nobel prizes, at a minimum. Maybe three, once Gaza has entered its final state: A peaceful, massive, dusty grave, haunting in its stillness.

(I am done talking with you. The information is there, if you change your mind and want to read it, and in the meantime the world is turning more and more towards holding you to account, with or without your consent, whether or not you accept. Better late than never I guess.)

      • If you’re actually interested in how this works, they all take numbers and information provided by Hamas, copy it, and provide their seal of approval. It’s information laundering. These NGOs and UN agencies are not neutral. They are staffed by partisan people and activists. Just look at the people and their biographies.

I have probably read more than you about this, including UN, amnesty, IPC, and other reports.

Also, where can I read that document that isn’t VPN-blocked? I’m definitely not clicking on your random bullshit from my home IP, you might decide to genocide me.

Sounds pretty good! What was UN’s, Amnesty’s, IPC’s, and for that matter the ICJ’s take on Israel blocking humanitarian aid while people are starving?

No dodging the question, now. What was their take on it?

Actually, I’ll leave you with one other piece: Solzhenitsyn talked about being a soldier during the invasion of Germany in the 1940s. After the war they had started turned on them and went bad, the German people were subjected to some real horrors. Random shooting, torture, rape, starvation. Gangs of young people in the streets, terrorizing the weak to survive. Nova festival times a hundred.

And the overwhelming consensus of the German people was a shocked and wounded outrage. “How could they do this to us? We didn’t do anything!” And, it’s kind of true, mostly. Most of the people at the Nova music festival didn’t “do anything,” either. Some of them did, there were certainly some among the number who during their service had shot some Palestinian kids, or raped some Palestinian woman. But most didn’t. They were just kids. But, the way the logic of the world works, once you unleash the monster it doesn’t care about guilt or innocence. It just comes for you. That’s why you should be diligent, keep it away, not summon it and give it strength.

I would really recommend, if you are not trolling, that you work your way out of your current little bubble. It will to be the benefit of everyone, probably by far the most of all, the Israelis’.

      • Of course you have to use a Nazi comparison. That smells antisemitic already.

The war of total devastation that destroyed Europe is nothing like anything Israel did before October 7th 2023.

Justifying the slaughter of a peaceful rave like you do is despicable and inhuman. Friends of mine were brutally killed there, who I will never see again.

You have lost all perspective of what is good and human.

I made that specific comparison, in the way that I did, for a very specific reason. Go back and read it again. I know it’s painful. It’s meant to be.

Netanyahu is spitting on the memories and legacies of everyone who suffered in the holocaust, by repeating exactly the same behaviors the Germans executed that led to it in the first place. My family had friends who went through the camps, with the numbers on the arm, and everything. They made it out, and you’re spitting on their memories, too.

          • by repeating exactly the same behaviors the Germans

Netanyahu does a lot of bad things. As horrible as his leadership is, it’s not the same or on the same level as Nazi germany. The camps were far worse than anything that happened in Gaza. Look up the details and conditions.

More than 30,000 Jews were shot over the course of just two days in Babi Yar. Nothing similar to that has happened in Gaza.

By misrepresenting the history of the holocaust, you are dishonoring the memory of the victims.

Drawing an equivalence between the holocaust and the war in Gaza, is denying its horrors. It’s also not necessary at all. At best it distracts from the reality of Gaza, at worst it helps those who retroactively applaud the holocaust and want it to be repeated.

As horrible as his leadership is, it’s not the same or on the same level as Nazi germany.

Not at all what I said. I said they were repeating exactly the same behaviors that led to the holocaust: Dehumanizing a racial enemy, killing them so they can take their stuff, and claiming to be the victims while attempting to exterminate them from the planet.

It turns out conditions are different, so they don’t need camps for it or the same Nazi-style system, but the goal is the same: Eliminate the Palestinians from the face of the earth. That’s not me talking, it’s the UN. You said you are far more aware of these things than I am, so obviously you knew that. Right? Or no?

At best it distracts from the reality of Gaza, at worst it helps those who retroactively applaud the holocaust and want it to be repeated.

Says the guy who’s distracting from the reality of Gaza, and doing legwork for the holocaust to be repeated. Honestly, the Palestinian holocaust decades in the making almost complete now. Just a little few scraps of land left, a few scattered pockets of people, and then it will be done, unless someone stops Israel from it.
