In his stirring final speech to a United Nations General Assembly, Colombian President Gustavo Petro on Tuesday called for an international armed intervention to end Israel’s nearly two-year genocide in Gaza.

“We need a powerful army of the countries that do not accept genocide,” Petro, who is in his last year in office and is limited under Colombian law to a single presidential term, told world leaders gathered in New York. “That is why I invite nations of the world and their peoples more than anything, as an integral part of humanity, to bring together weapons and armies.”

“We must liberate Palestine,” he asserted. “I invite the armies of Asia, the great Slavic people who defeated Hitler with great heroism, and the Latin American armies of Bolívar.”

“We’ve had enough words; it’s time for Bolívar’s sword of liberty or death,” Petro argued, referring to the 19th century Latin American independence hero Simón Bolívar.

If a peacekeeping force were decided upon by a coalition of developed world “allies”, who told Israel to vacate Palestinian territory entirely under threat of lethal retaliatory force, I doubt Israel would be interested in escalating that conflict.

They’ve already turned a majority of the wests civilian population decidedly anti-Israel for generations. I double dare them to start a war with the developed world.

Of course this will never happen, because we live in capitalist dictatorships — with the illusion of democracy — that only care about the almighty dollar.

Thats whats gonna happen in a few days with the sumud flotilla tho. Not technically an invasion, but an unauthorized landing to deliver aid. They are also flanked by italian and spanish military ships to protect them from the IDF, so its gonna be interesting.

Also Gaza doesnt even exist anymore, the only thing left is the people and rubble. And the IDF isnt gonna allow the people to live much longer. I dont think there is anything left to “destroy” other than IDF troops.

      • The Spanish and Italian ships will not enter Israeli waters. They are asking the flotilla to hand over the aid goods, so they can be delivered to an Israeli port and then to Gaza.

No thats what Israel is asking the flotilla to do. And then Israel would obviously just destroy the aid. The european navy ships are there specifically to protect the boats from IDF bombings.

Israel is going to board the flotilla just like all previous times. Then arrest the people on the boats and deport them. Finally transport the aid they had brought to Gaza by truck. Last time the flotilla carried a symbolic amount of aid that fit in one truck.

Lots of dramatic statements will be made by activists.

They obviously wont actually deliver they aid lol. And even if they did, they would just use it as another deathtrap to lure people and massacre them while they try to get it. Just like they have been doing for months. There is plenty of footage of this if you need convincing. If you really believe the IDF is following international law at this point, you are completely deranged.
