Sep 24, 2025In his stirring final speech to a United Nations General Assembly, Colombian President Gustavo Petro on Tuesday called for an international armed intervention to end Israel’s nearly two-year genocide in Gaza.
“We need a powerful army of the countries that do not accept genocide,” Petro, who is in his last year in office and is limited under Colombian law to a single presidential term, told world leaders gathered in New York. “That is why I invite nations of the world and their peoples more than anything, as an integral part of humanity, to bring together weapons and armies.”
“We must liberate Palestine,” he asserted. “I invite the armies of Asia, the great Slavic people who defeated Hitler with great heroism, and the Latin American armies of Bolívar.”
“We’ve had enough words; it’s time for Bolívar’s sword of liberty or death,” Petro argued, referring to the 19th century Latin American independence hero Simón Bolívar.
The UN has no arms though.
Unless GDI got founded while I wasn’t looking.
lots of UN states have an army though
An invasion of Gaza fighting the IDF sounds like a very destructive idea.
unlike doing nothing and letting Israel destroy the entirety of gaza?
If a peacekeeping force were decided upon by a coalition of developed world “allies”, who told Israel to vacate Palestinian territory entirely under threat of lethal retaliatory force, I doubt Israel would be interested in escalating that conflict.
They’ve already turned a majority of the wests civilian population decidedly anti-Israel for generations. I double dare them to start a war with the developed world.
Of course this will never happen, because we live in capitalist dictatorships — with the illusion of democracy — that only care about the almighty dollar.
IDK, depends on how large the force is. Israel has fired on the UN personnel.
IDF only strength is it’s air force, they are terrible in ground invasion
Israel just successfully did a ground invasion of Lebanon and Gaza.
They are fighting militant groups with very old weapons not many western countries with as good weapons as israel. The idf struggling to destroy hamas in less than two years is a joke in such a small land that gaza is
Go back to your Hasbara officer and try another lie. IOF coward nazis can NEVER do ground or man to man.
These coward nazis need to use airplane to bomb a single lone fighter with an AK fighting a whole blatton by himself:

They cannot even beat a 63 yr old Hamas fighter until they shelled the building he was in, then surrounded it for 3 days while sending drones:

The most moral and brave army in the world even entrap dogs with bombs and send them first:

They even send an 80 yr old as human shield: And that’s their actual protocol and practice is to use Palestinian civilians as human shield since decades: https://youtube.com/watch?v=jbCMsYqoNyE

You want me to keep going showing the bravery of the most moral army in the world you zionist clown?
They are presumed to have nuclear weapons. I won’t speak to their effectiveness, nor of Israel’s likelihood to use them, but it does need to be factored in. Especially since those in power are likely to become very desperate when their grip on power is threatened.
None of this means we shouldn’t do it, just that we need to account and plan for the risks.
If countries that also have nukes participate nothing to worry about
Thats whats gonna happen in a few days with the sumud flotilla tho. Not technically an invasion, but an unauthorized landing to deliver aid. They are also flanked by italian and spanish military ships to protect them from the IDF, so its gonna be interesting.
Also Gaza doesnt even exist anymore, the only thing left is the people and rubble. And the IDF isnt gonna allow the people to live much longer. I dont think there is anything left to “destroy” other than IDF troops.
The Spanish and Italian ships will not enter Israeli waters. They are asking the flotilla to hand over the aid goods, so they can be delivered to an Israeli port and then to Gaza.
No thats what Israel is asking the flotilla to do. And then Israel would obviously just destroy the aid. The european navy ships are there specifically to protect the boats from IDF bombings.

Crosetto urged the flotilla to offload aid instead in Cyprus, suggesting Italy and the Catholic Church could deliver it safely to Palestinians. He emphasized that Italy couldn’t guarantee the flotilla’s security once it entered another country’s waters, noting Israel might view it as a “hostile act.”
Yeah they wont enter Israeli waters, but that means they will stay with them right up until the 30? km line. After that its gonna get spicy.
Israel is going to board the flotilla just like all previous times. Then arrest the people on the boats and deport them. Finally transport the aid they had brought to Gaza by truck. Last time the flotilla carried a symbolic amount of aid that fit in one truck.
Lots of dramatic statements will be made by activists.
They obviously wont actually deliver they aid lol. And even if they did, they would just use it as another deathtrap to lure people and massacre them while they try to get it. Just like they have been doing for months. There is plenty of footage of this if you need convincing. If you really believe the IDF is following international law at this point, you are completely deranged.
