I don’t think the US is capable of fielding a long-scale embargo or invasion of Venezuela sufficient to capture regime change. Venezuala isn’t an island like Cuba is, it’s much larger as well, with allies in the surrounding areas.
i suspect that any embargo would be part of plan to choke off revenue from china while the americans start arming and training right wing groups in venezuela.
is the same tactic that they’ve used in other large latin american countries like mexico in the past; using the american military to choke off revenue while fomenting violence within the country at the same time to make non-maritime trade as difficult as possible.

columbia proved that the governments in latin america are unable to enforce their policies in the interior of their countries where non-government militias/juntas have control.
add to that the interiors of both venezuela and brazil are so heavily forested and mountainous that trade is already almost non-existent during peace time; so a couple farmers with american guns and an american stipend to stop the trickle of trade through the land borders is all it would take to prevent a ally like brazil from being able to help at all.
the international community would be ineffectual as well considering that neither the un nor the icc/icj has any strength in stopping isreal in it’s ethnic cleans plans and would-be allies like mexico keeps arms length distance from venezuela due to economic pressure like trump’s tariff threats; meaning that the rest of latin america is going to pretend that venezuela’s encirclement not happening.

The geography is also advantageous for defense, however. Venezuelans know their geography. I don’t think a guerilla campaign funded by the US Empire has the same capability of success as they have in the past.
i hope you’re right and they need to start turtling last year to turn the geography into their advantage since it’s going to be dirt cheap to bribe the local people into doing the american empire’s bidding.
We’ll see. The US Empire may not be able to field a protracted assault, but that doesn’t mean any conflict will be a cakewalk for Venezuela. Very worrying progressions.
