On total revenue the article is a bit stupid, because it writes the revenue for BYD in £ and for Tesla in $.
So BYD is bigger on total revenue, and total cars sold, and also EV if hybrid plugin is counted too.
The article I link also states the company as registered at Shenzhen stock exchange which is correct, while OP article says Hong Kong which is incorrect.
Anyways, Tesla is dropping like a rock in Europe and China, while BYD is just starting on the European market, and had 34% increase in profits in 2024.
I’m not a particular fan of BYD cars myself, and nobody in my neighborhood wants a Chinese car, but they seem to be doing extremely well as a company, and they are definitely helping the prices getting better here. 😀
