Most, if not all, traffic lane identifiers are written this way in CA. Bottom to top for ease of easy comprehension. I read ‘Bike’ first so it’s quicker that I’m aware it’s not a turning lane for example
You’re not wrong; but the main point is the largest word is closest to you. In this case I think it’s best to be able to read ‘bike’ before ‘lane’ without taking too much time off the road ahead. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
