What’s the problem, some developers loosing out on the intrinsic joy of creating a project on your own? I don’t think that assuming every project that comes out is made with ai will help fight against ai companies.
Watching a field that’s been a major part of me for the majority of my life being butchered and made a mockery of. It’s the same situation as what happened to artists but it’s harder to defend against because the AI generated codebases often do work at this point so people will ignore the AI.
The fact though is that code IS an art form to me and others that are in tech out of a genuine interest rather than the money. I used to enjoy reading through the code for interesting new projects but when its all AI generated there’s just no point anymore and it’s deeply, deeply depressing
There’s a million other reasons to avoid AI projects but thats the one that hits me the most
