If its good the star shitizen backers are going to be so insufferable i might actually die. It does look like it has gameplay in it
I wonder if the team behind that was able to use established solutions since it’s a tightly on-rails single player game so they don’t have to try to deal with floating point errors from astronomic distances for everything or the trainwreck that is their server netcode, nor do they have to listen to terrible and unworkable hyper-simulationist gameplay ideas and can instead just do normal FPS gameplay.
I’ve been hearing that the people who got to try it out all seemed to like it and it doesn’t seem to be plagued by the intractable issues that afflict Star Citizen. It’s just taken them 13 years to churn out the kind of linear FPS game that a more capable studio could have done in 1-2 years, while the spinoff-turned-main-game MMO is still a burning trainwreck that will never approach anything they sold it as because they’re just incapable of using the correct solution to their technical problems and are similarly incapable of just having a team sit down and fill out the setting with content.
I for one thank the many brave solidiers who spend tens of thousands on digital ships for making this happen
kind of linear FPS game
Small problem, or rather a very large problem, S42 is supposed to be spiritual successor to Wing Commander, not be a run of the mill FPS. It’s really funny that the trailer is showing off only cinematics and fps gameplay.
For how much this costs, it looks like any cod game just in space, which I think one of the cod games already did.
Lol I backed this game and forgot I was waiting for it. I checked an old login on the site and it was 2013 when I gave them like thirty bucks for squadron 42.
Being listed on steam means nothing much, i’m wishlisting some games (for some reason mostly space ones) that are listed forever and the devs show only to change the year in the expected release date.
what are the odds it ends up vibecoded slop?
