Yeah I’m just preaching to the choir lol.
Okay to be fair, I do have a slight twist.
Yeah I didn’t like clothes shopping previously. It was so boring. So PAINFULLY boring!
I’d be dragged into the clothes store by my mom and she’d be in there for like… Literal HOURS! My mom is absolutely HORRIBLE when it comes to shopping for anything! What are you waiting for? Christmas?
And it’s hours of nonstop “So do you like this or this?”
Meanwhile I’ll be standing there looking at these cloths and saying “They’re fine! I don’t care which ones you get!”
Because, well, that was the truth! When presenting male I wasn’t uncomfortable with how I looked to others (I did do a bit of that dysphoria thing while looking at myself in photos and videos). And honestly? Male fashion doesn’t speak to me. I’m not male!
Infact I still wonder if I’m a tad bit agender, albeit a transfem one. I just don’t have an overly strong sense of gender!
Now that I know I’m female and thus processing through what my own fashion is I’m actually interested!
I’ll be browsing and thinking to myself:
“This looks nice!”
“Idk if this is my style, I think I’ll put it back.”
“Fucking hell, who prices a used shirt at a thrift store for $8 USD? And why is this one $16 USD?”
“The shi- This counts as "extra large"? This would fit most women! Was this sizing system created by pedophiles or something? The "regular" sized clothing looks like they’re for ten year olds! ADULT WOMEN AREN’T THAT SMALL!”
“Heh… This piece exposes quite a lot of skin. I think I’ll get it so that I can look like a [insert whatever anti-sex worker female slur you find most offensive/nasty] and have fun!”
“Wow, only $10 USD for this brand new dress? That’s not bad!”
“You think that, because you do not speak, that you are strong?”
“Your motherland requires your final commitment! The SS honor guards defending this building will fight to their last breath. Crush the last remnants of resistance, and tonight our flag will fly over the city. We must not FALTER! Show courage, show strength, show pride, but show no mercy!”
Sorry the last one is from Call of Duty. Still have a pretty serious case of COD brainworms so my AuDHD ass often replays memorable moments from the campaigns lol.
But yeah the twists here are that, well, I didn’t often get dysphoria!
Yes, I know, you don’t need to have dysphoria to be trans. I know that already!
I know I’m trans because not only am I getting joy and contentment from doing this, but I’m also like… “Doing normal stuff” and thinking about my gender and how I want to look.
Because before this I didn’t think about my gender or how I want to look beyond “I’m male” and “Yeah I highly value hygiene, thank you very much!”
Interesting stuff.
