The year is 2032. You are on a date walking down a picturesque, tree-lined street in Brooklyn. On the next block, the vibe is ruined by a standing army of fetid plastic dumpsters. Your date says, “Wow, I miss the days when there were black trash bags strewn across the sidewalk!”

Believe it or not, this will happen if we don’t stop Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s misguided Empire Bins plan.

I am not a big fan of the liberal Zionist Mamdani but taking the side of garbage and rats in the War on Trash is crazy funny! 😂

…the real problem is the aesthetics.

Ah yes, garbage on the streets is so much more aesthetically pleasing.

Yes, these bags smell and attract rats, but…

Socialists want to starve the cute little rat from Ratatouille!

The bins will contribute to the sense of New York becoming more “sanitized” each day, …perhaps physically cleaner but losing its character and history.

While they reduced reports of rats…

We will have fewer cars and more dumpsters.

    Oh the humanity!

True, these Contenur dumpsters have been used in European cities…

But everyone knows Europeans are soulless commies.

Will having the old school pile of bags overnight become a luxury amenity?

These dumpsters will take a toll on our psyches. It attacks the human aspects of our cities.

Can the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) help?

    🤣 😂 🤣 😂

The parking is an issue that will be hotly contested, but the real problem is the aesthetics.

Read between the lines. The author is angry that their parking spot is replaced with a bin. They are just not brave enough to say it.

Someone this wealthy and deluded most likely parks in private underground garages, though he might own investments in several of the private parking meter companies that control the city’s parking infrastructure.

New York City throws their trash into the street in massive piles that sanitation workers manually load into trucks. Many of the narrow streets are to small for dump trucks to effectively maneuver, so the bags became a stopgap measure to the point that the streets now flow with garbage. Wealthy losers were the biggest antagonists against public dumpster infrastructure because having a perpetual dumpster is “unsightly”, compared to seeing a trash pile for one to two days.

      Actual lunacy.

A little bit of class warfare as well since homeless people would use old style trash cans as mobile firepits, or try to sell them for scrap, so the city decided to get rid of trash cans entirely.

The problem of garbage bags piling up on the streets and attracting huge numbers of rats.

Yes, practically every modern, civilized city has dumpsters, but apparently NYC was the exception and this person writing the article really wanted it to stay that way.
