The UK will provide defensive military support to Saudi Arabia against attacks from Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels, the prime minister has confirmed.
Speaking to reporters while travelling to attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Andy Burnham said Saudi Arabia has requested support, “and on the advice of the defence secretary and the foreign secretary, last night I agreed to that request”.
The UK will only provide support for air-to-air refuelling for Saudi planes on defensive missions, rather than for a wider range of military actions.
One RAF voyager will be used for the refuelling.

UK gotta make themselves complicit, then face a Houthi blockade on the Red Sea shipping and then yell victim and start bombing Yemen. Maybe they can pull in more European countries who konws.

The current blockade is only on Saudi ships. Ansarallah specifically stated that if others help Saudi they will also get shipping blocks. Burnham is risking the UK economy to help the Saudi regime.
and the UK does use Saudi flagged & owned ships to import and deliver oil and gas. So yes its a already a direct affect on us.

The previous blockade was “only” on Israeli ships or ships visiting Israel. Except the Houthis evidently got bored and started firing on other ships too.
