I tried to read the book and while I like the way the multiverse functions or how navigating it works but the main character moping for months cause me to DNF.
I finished it, hoping to see any trace of “dark matter” in the story but it was so cringe that the book never once used it. What a stupid thing to do - just to co-opt a popular phrase.
It’s the reason why no matter how good the show gets, I’ll never watch it.
But more critically, I don’t give a shit about the show. It’s the book I’m upset with. I finished that fucker. Gave it 2 stars. First book I’ve finished in a long time that I didn’t give 5 stars to.

Should have named it “Darkest matters” or something. I don’t know what it’s about.
Similarly, I hate common word company names like “Meta” that broke search for those words.
Meta was the dumbest rename. I still call it Facebook.
How about “Grim dark matters”?
To be fair, the other ‘Dark Matter’(2015) tv show never actually brought up dark matter either.
Who was in that? I’m trying to remember if I’ve heard of it.
