So, you believe it’s just better to stay away from people who differ in political opinion?

Funny, that exactly lets me know you’re the type of person that I probably want to stay away from.

Judgemental, condescending, and such. Please let’s not let stupid politics continue to divide us. It’s bad right now.

There’s having a difference of opinion and then there’s wanting to end democracy as we know it. Trump and Trump supporters are a threat to democracy.

Trump and Trump supporters are a threat to democracy.

Uhg… No, no they arent… this is exactly the narrative pushed by the left. You’re repeating it like a good little democratic but neither candidate is a threat to democracy. America will be fine. Neither candidate will end democracy.

Just to make my position clear, I’ve never voted republican.

        That’s utter BS

Also there is some irony to believing that a democratically elected leader is undemocratic. If 2020 taught us anything it is that you must respect the system.

Trump has basically openly admitted that if he had his way, this would be our last election.

JD Vance is a weird corpo-monarchist. He’s written about it a bit, but his corpo-daddy Peter Thiel has openly spoken about it.

Then there’s Project 2025, a literal blueprint for Trump to follow to turn the country into a christo-fascist dictatorship. Vance wrote the forward to the book form, but the author is holding it back until after the election. Not out of shame, but because they know that being so open with their plan has hurt them in the polls.

How did Hitler raise to power again? Was it a violent fascist military campaign, where he clearly outlined the holocaust in explicit detail, or did a combination of propaganda, street action, democracy, and constant, daily, unending lies that they would be very humane and reasonable in their deportation of ll millions of Jews, and NOT forming a fascist dictatorship to go to war with the entire world to kill everyone not German and repopulate the world with only Germans they SWAERSIED they wouldn’t do.

If you can’t grasp how the plan to depopulation the county of 20 MILLION Hispanic peoples no matter how legal isn’t PLAINLY obvious to you as ethnic clensing, you are the stooge. You are the fool. You are the useful idiot. You have accepted the party line uncritically. You have a crippling lack of curiosity, you can’t fathom why anyone would be offended by calling all Hispanics illegal, as you aren’t even Hispanic, so why would you care, it doesn’t hurt your feelings or threaten you.

There’s an obvious difference between someone having a different political belief and a dangerous political belief. Being radical conservative is a dangerous political belief. Forgive me but I don’t want to hang around people who call me slurs or physically threaten me for who I am, or just try to take away my access to live-saving medical care.

Fascism, bigotry, and authoritarianism is not an opinion, in the same way that arsenic isn’t a flavor.

When you said you were on truth social I knew exactly the kind of person you are. It’s not surprising that you get called a Nazi and a Maga often, you share very similar beliefs with them. Also “You have the right to pretend to be whoever you want to be” fuck you, I’m not pretending, none of us are pretending. This is what I’m talking about when I say thinly veiled transphobia and denial of our identities. We aren’t pretending to be women, we ARE women, trans women are women. If you can’t accept that, regardless of how you self-proclaim yourself or how nice you claim to be or support us, you are a transphobe, because you are refusing to accept us for who we are, and instead try to push and insist that we are something we are not and are just pretending. Go fuck off.

When you said you were on truth social I knew exactly the kind of person you are.

This is exactly what I’m talking about. Now you’ve turned me into a strawman to unleash your anger towards. I’m not going to try to explain anything else. But, you should get a truth social account, it’s pretty wild in there. Don’t be afraid.

You shouldn’t bother trying to waste your breath explaining anything, I have no intention of wasting my time listening to people like you. This quote sums up people like you pretty well, just replace anti-semite with alt-right.

Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.

"Anti-semite, “alt-right”. You couldn’t be further from the truth. What exactly did I say that has you painting me as such a characature?

                listening to people like you

                sums up people like you

Constant generalizing and stereotyping… It’s assumptions based on ignorance. I think it’s a symptom of social media in general, but I’m really feeling the brunt of it here on lemmy.

You don’t know me. Your arguments are only good against certain people/issues, so you turn me into a strawman for your arguments.

It is generally wise to stay away from self declared fascists - and people declaring those things are declaring themselves to be fascists whether they know it or not

When the views are “I kinda like society” and “let the suffering commence!” Yeah, I expect most people to be on my side and anyone on the other to be shunned.
