    To the people of Spain and France: My heart goes out to you. As a British Columbian, we, too, are struggling with the same fire battles and devastation. Added to our fire challenges, is a “neighbour” that is threatening us at every turn, including: “threatening new tariffs over wildfire smoke drifting south of the border.”

    Or until the forest is gone, anyway. Most future biome maps I’ve seen have two smaller patches of boreal forest.

    It won’t be “forever”. Once the piled up fuel (that’s been accumulating for the past hundred years or so since we’ve taken the stance that all forest fires are bad) are burnt through, we’ll stop seeing these big fires over and over.
