same here and the thing that stings the most for me is the living proof of leftist progress right at our southern border. it directly refutes the neoliberal myths we keep feeding each other and keep us trapped under the control of the epstein oligarchy.
also there’s history: all of mexico’s reform attempts have been reversed by either the united states or europe before and i expect this time around to be no different since it’s currently already happening in the rest of latin america.
it makes me wish i’d learned gramsci’s “pessimism of the intellect, optimism of the will” before bothering with any other piece of leftist literature – we western doomscrollers need that more than anything else rn.
