  • I'm not sure if the sunglasses are cooler than Scholz's pirate eye patch.

  • Yeah, you lose reliability. If you put the antenna in a pit it will be limited in its beamforming capability. This restricts the number of visible satellites, leading to situations where no satellites are visible.

  • Very hard to do. You need to be able to launch to the same orbits as the satellites and Starlink uses thousands of satellites, almost all of which will at some point fly over those countries. So they'd need to shoot them all down.

  • Job postings don't necessarily mean that they're actually hiring. Sometimes job postings are used to appear healthy in public.

  • If you drive a car that burns fossil fuels than you're responsible for the emissions. But the company selling you the petrol and the manufacturer of the car are also responsible. They are lobbying the governments of the world so that they can continue selling you petrol and cars with internal combustion engines instead of investing in greener technologies.

  • It's an evolution of the fanny pack.

  • Selbst wenn es mehr Kranke gäbe, sollte die Schlussfolgerung nicht sein, dass die alle krank zur Arbeit gehen sollen, sondern man müsste dann mal genauer gucken, warum das mehr sind.

  • No, not the best time, just the last time in humans where actually in charge before everything started to be controlled by machines.

  • Fanny packs are back in Germany for a few years now, but nobody wears them like a fanny pack, they were them across the chest.

  • Part of the general population is also a bunch of useful idiots for the lobbyists.

  • It's a risk I'm willing to take.

  • Houten was not included in the survey. They only considered cities above 250k population and then somehow limited it to 100 cities. They also only consider the five best cities that participated in their survey, which mostly affected a bunch of large cities in Germany, including Berlin and Hamburg.

The 2025 Index ranks 100 cities which have been carefully selected in a transparent, multi-step process. The selection started off with a list of all urban areas of more than 250,000 inhabitants, while also including capital cities with smaller populations when their cycling modal share had become significant.
