Neon Genesis Evangelion is an anime from 1995 that defined some fundamentals of anime as a genre and helped a lot of folks through some shit over the years. Within its time and context, it gave some fresh takes on things like gender and autism which didn't have much representation back then. It has smashy giant robots and family drama and aesthetic religion and some wild ass pretentious artsy strangeness.
The head desking meme lad is protagonist Shinji. You read him like a sonnet without knowing him, which is some bodhisattva shit. Anyway, Evangelion needs a sheaf of content warnings, but I gift you the cursed knowledge to do with as you will. 🧿
Some alcohol still absorbs through the skin inside your mouth, tasting and spitting 50 wines at a quick pace through a day can get someone tipsy. Judging wines properly can also involve swallowing a tiny amount to feel the characteristics of it on the way down the throat.
…But there’s officially a new cat color in town: salmiak, or ‘salty liquorice.’ You can see onehere.
The pretty black, white, and grey shade—named for a popular snack food in Finland, where this coat color has been making itself known—is thanks to a fur strand that starts off black near the root, but grows whiter and whiter out towards the tip. The coat was first spotted in 2007, and in 2019, it was brought to the attention of a group of cat experts lead by feline geneticist Heidi Anderson.
Since then, the group has been trying to figure out exactly what causes this shade to express itself, and recently, they finally figured it out. A paper on the discovery has been published in the journal Animal Genetics.
It might not be quite the answer you’re looking for, but generous fit around shapewear, torsos, and butts was a key feature of centuries of historical European men’s shirts. If your comrade can get down with ‘em stylistically, there’s a lot more variety than just stereotypical flouncy pirate shirts. For most of their heyday, they were typically worn tucked deep down in lieu of underwear.
I’m having a hard time tracking down a broad lesson on just historical base-layer linen shirts, but excellent historical gear merchant and YouTuber Townsends can show you some silhouettes. Don’t be freaked by what they’re charging, it’s premium priced srs bsns reenactment stuff. They made a little explainer video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FbwRSfedoE
The garment is reputedly a great beginner sewing project, or easy to crank out if you know someone really stitchy. Victorians used to buy them by the half-dozen or dozen. Here is a creator making one who mentions having top surgery: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lORt8kIwsNw
I’m chronically ill and this post completely ruled. 👑
