  • This is by the design of our system. It's significantly easier to arrest and detain minorities in minority neighborhoods without any evidence of the crimes of ICE. The fact that we have 7 actual cases we are aware of for these crimes by ICE should really raise a red flag that there are many many more that we are not even aware of. And this just murders we are talking about. We will find out in the coming years of rape, abuse, and other crimes these Nazis have done.

    Pretti and Good are the examples that should upset us not just for the injustice done to them. But also be seen as a question to all; what do they do when the cameras aren't on them? What do they do when the people filming them don't feel the shield of white privilege? We don't get to see those videos.

    Using race as a reason to be a radlib and say 'look at you caring now that white people die' is dumb as fuck. Understanding how race plays a role in the ability for ICE to get away with their crimes is still of vital importancs though.

    I get it. The things I'm talking about needing to be done are likely not going to happen. I would say we are both coping with the reality in different ways.

    I don't want to be upset with you for dealing with it another way. I guess I just think you're holding onto the idea of a world (or the USA) that no longer exists.

    I think there is no way to a better future that isn't fought for against the current systems that exist. You, I am assuming, are trying to restore something (and if I'm being critical that "something" is a delusion of the past). It's why it's so difficult for you to state any concrete plan as I have. Your advice was "be careful" and then fell back on just belittling any talk of organized resistance as some form of adventurism.

    It's why you have to pretend I'm talking about something I'm not talking about. You act like I'm talking about some vigilante form of resistance. And I never have been.

    I wish you'd try to continue the conversation instead of just falling back on sarcastic responses that criticize a position I don't hold.

    If you were even doing the thing you were advocating for. That is. "protesting peacefully" you wouldn't have the ignorant perspective you have. Stop advocating for something you clearly aren't even doing.

    How many? 10? 100? 1000? At what point do you suggest fighting back? And I am not even advocating for a vigilante violence. I'm literally talking about preparing an organized defense that is armed.

    You can't wait until your chosen number of dead is reached. By then it's too late.

    How is what I discussed not being "smart" about what we do? It's literally about preparing an organized state defense to the fascist literally executing and kidnapping people RIGHT NOW.

    It got as bad as media giving us headlines of "Israeli hostage kidnapped from tank". Not even kidding. They labeled an IDF soldier in a tank as a kidnapped hostage. We have a word for that already: prisoner of war.

    Once you notice this type of passive language used to describe the crimes of who the US government supports vs. who it sees as an enemy. Man, you'll start to go crazy at noticing how much it's used.

    Journalist and talking heads on TV are told exactly what vocabulary to use when covering a specific topic. It's more directed at the interest of those in power and those with wealth than it is to fit an algorithm.

    I mean, the people directing the vocabulary are the same group of people that ensure that algorithm favors them. They allow very extreme vocabulary like "rape" or "beheadings" through their filters when they want to lie about something that favors their narrative.

  • I don't disagree. I like that spirit. I'm just telling you the reality that unless ICE (or "election integrity enforcement" or whatever they end up calling it) is not present AT ALL than there will be significantly less voter turnout.

    They will also use any organized resistance as a reason to "recount" the votes in that area.

    I'm not saying this to be a Doomer. I'm saying this so people prepare. There is no scenario in which the upcoming election is free and fair. We need to be preparing state and local level resistance. A unified and state armed multi state coalition. If the blue state politicians don't move on this. Well, we need to start considering that our state governments are not taking the threat seriously and accept what needs to be done to form a real resistance. ICE will not leave because we brought signs. Alex Pretti had the right idea. But we need the organization of an actual state government to do that.

    There are also lot of Latino origin people that are literally just white by all means. It kind of just goes to show that being "white" is not really a real thing. It's just a word that has always been used to describe the in-group. Irish were not white, Italians were not white, hell, you go back far enough and you got writings from Thomas Jefferson describing Germans as non white.

    I think the average "white" American doesn't actually understand what that term even means or how it's been used historically.

    If it's not clear I'll spell it out. Fascism has never been a movement based purely on racial lines. Fascism is and always has been a method of defense and oppression used by the capitalist class to maintain power over the working class. Racism and bigotry are only as meaningful as they can be used to maintain the current structures of power.

    So, yes, people with Mexican sounding names will be recruited to as soldiers of the fascist state. Some may even lead it.

    You need to dissolve your ideas of liberal identity based politics and start thinking in terms of class struggle. If you can, you'll be much better prepared and able to understand what will unfold over the next decade of our lives.

  • That's exactly why the planned opposition party will continue to keep the machine running. At this point, I think anyone that has faith in the Democratic party is literally more delusional than the people that voted for Trump three times.

    We are literally watching the equivalent of the liberal parties in Germany voting for the Enabling Act. And, honestly, they already did that when they funded ICE like they did.
