there's a lot of writing about how the Christians were coding their language at this time because writing about the god king was sure to be death, especially if you're trying to warn others
Anyways the code for number of the beast, 666 or 616 was basically Nero. He killed a lot of Christians. Revolations is code for the prediction of the fall of Rome
be real and think of that bronze age world and consider how much Rome controlled the world of people who could read and write. It was something very special to write a long message. It would be something that stands out like a big screen tv does to us. they had to hid meaningful things inside fantastic stories so when their caught, they have a way out
I'm proud of SDF.org but they do drop the ball a lot in regards to the lemmy instance. The mastodon service gets all the attention outside their core goals of public access to Unix. The biggest community is good and there's a fun digital comic artist that does lots of great work
I always feel like its only the first couple minutes of rain that suck. Once you get past that initial blast, it usually isn't so bad. Having the right gear is a must though.
I find autocorrect to be the stupid thing sometimes, I text my wife's name often enough and its not a common name but you'd think that since I type it so often, that autocorrect would assume that I am typing it again but nope, it never guesses correctly. It can never autocorrect my last name either... EVEN WHEN I ADDED IT TO THE DICTIONARY
at work, on my main desktop, I use a picture I took on vacation (of Scotland)
otherwise I have to use a lot of servers so I color code the desktops to remind myself of what systems it is or how critical it is. Using red or uncomfortable colors on systems that are critical keeps me from making mistakes on them.
