  • Holy shit. If they really go through with this, it could be the pretence they need to segregate or arrest trans people. This is like the first of the Nazi laws discriminating against Jews. Five alarm fire moment.

  • They are, if your definition of working is that inflation is down. No question inflation is way down. Unfortunately employment rates are also way down, and poverty is way up.

So are they working? Depends on the metric you look at. Reducing inflation is, in a vacuum, a significant success; though taken in combination with the secondary harms of austerity, it’s probably a net negative for many people, if not most people.

  • This is gonna get DMCA’d / Cease and Desist -ed so fast. Download it now if you want it.

  • They shouldn’t, and this lesson is likely to ensure few further companies will.

  • It’s largely an age gap I think. The first generation of FPS games on N64, PS1, etc used inverted controls, so if you’re an old man millennial like me, that’s how you learned to play.

Then in later generations (PS2/3 and on) this changed and inverted became an option, rather than the default (or in some games, only!).

Thus younger gamers are used to “standard” and older gamers used to inverted.

  • Because the inmates are running the asylum.

  • Oh no! If only there had been some way for farmers to know this was going to happen! Like Trump telling them it was going to happen! Or every economist in the country warning it was going to happen! Or Trump doing the same thing in his first term! WHO COULD HAVE KNOWN???

  • Just adding my two cents as a server operator - your comment could have been interpreted as encouraging/inciting violence. Depending on the jurisdiction, operators are legally required to remove that as it can be considered illegal material. I’m not sure where Lemmy World is hosted but here in Portugal it is considered illegal, and the law says that if you’d written it on my server and it was reported to me, I would have no option but to delete it. And realistically, debating the nuance of someone else’s comment to try and talk the media regulator out of fining you, just isn’t something these volunteer run instances are capable of handling. So unfortunately it is what it is with this stuff.

  • I’m an American living in the EU, and I’m surprised by that. All the other American immigrants I’ve met so far have been opposed to Trump and Republicans generally. I always figured the conservatives were likely to be buying into AmErIcA iS tHe BeSt propaganda and would thus be uninterested in moving to another country.

  • b..but..but that would be SOCIALISM!

  • because it’s shit

  • But think of the street cred!

  • I mean, you could approximate a phone with a lot of SBCs out there right now, if you stuck a screen onto it. A lot of them even have SIM modules. If somebody wanted to go full hacker you could probably 3D print a case for something like a Banana Pi, stick a cheap touchscreen OLED panel in there and Frankenstein up a battery. Would be a lot of work though and I’m sure getting all the shit working would be nontrivial.

  • Oh hey Alice, how you doing? Anyways,

  • But muh stonks!

  • I’ve done this with a few other LemmyWorld communities I had and could be convinced to do the same here, however, it never works out quite well because you can’t properly redirect the old community to the new one on Lemmy. All you can do is post a sticky and hope people notice it, which means you’ll miss most of the users, or delete the community, which means it just goes poof and so users are unlikely to notice. It’s a problem that could use a better solution since the nature of the fediverse generates a lot of duplicate communities.

  • Since this was known during pregnancy, this is exactly the case where an abortion should have been performed. Bringing someone into this world in that state - knowingly - is inhumane.

  • They don’t care as long as the fascist is “their” guy.
