Yeah I mean he has already said he’s worried about impeachment if he loses the midterms, and joked about canceling them (which I don’t think he can really even do). So he does seem to be scared of them to an extent, but as you say they’re a ways away.
Some people have hinted at some sort of breakdown in communications between the us and Russia near the end of last year, but I’m not knowledgeable enough about geopolitics to make heads or tails of anything.
One thing it does feel is very shock and awe, everything happening at once so that it’s impossible to keep up and really know what’s happening, and demoralizing any opposition there might be

I mean Venezuela, Iran, seizing Russian oil tankers, Greenland, now Mexico, plus the unexpected three ice shootings. Don’t need to do all this to erase the Epstein stuff, like one of those would suffice.
Idk I buy into this. Every time I say this I preface that it is completely vibes based, but they really do seem to want to create some 9/11 moment against the left. They tried to make the Charlie Kirk killing into that, which even the libs saw through it, and similar though half-assed attempts to do the same with the no kings protests, which was laughable. There have been other attempts, and that whole circus around listing antifa as a terrorist organization a while back.
Idk they do seem to want some justification for scorched earth tactics against the nonexistent American left that appeals to people other than the most ardent hogs. I also think the right is still extremely hung up on the 2020 protests and riots - it scared them, it made them feel weak, trump likely retreating to some safe room probably humiliated him. They want to recreate that and fulfill their most violent fantasies from back then, and now that trump is surrounded by bloodthirsty sycophants it’s possible. The libs were also extremely scared in 2020 and if that same anger erupted he could beam a picture of a burning police station into every suburban home and have the libs go “well im anti-trump but these people are violent!” As it is now he’s bleeding all but his most ardent supporters, and as I say there does seem to be some desire for justification. Though maybe now with all these ice shootings they’re past that and doing what they want regardless.
I wholeheartedly believe, and will continue to believe until I am presented evidence to the contrary, that the trump people fully expected either their inauguration, or any of the actions they’ve taken in the past year, to have resulted in 2020-style mass rioting that would allow them to go fully mask off. Showing that they fundamentally misunderstood why those protests and riots occurred and just in general the state of the American left. But that just…hasn’t happened, so now they’re at a loss since they really do have this mass fascist project they’d like to implement but they have no real enemy to position themselves against. So while they are completely unopposed in implementing their goals, they have no popular support, they are bleeding all but their most ardent supporters, essentially destroying the coalition that got them back in power in 2024. They’re locked in this contradiction where they can do anything they want unopposed, but everything they do turns around and damages their support. And they’ve tried to cast various laughable groups as the enemies of western civilization. No kings protests, which everyone can see is just a bunch of milquetoast liberals. They tried to act like the dude who shot Charlie Kirk was part of some grand left wing anti-American conspiracy which even the libs could see through. Every enemy they’ve tried to create is varying degrees of laughable, and they keep trying to poke the left and provoke mass rioting again, seemingly not realizing the American left has been on life support for at least 40-something years.
Sort of disappointing on our part tbh but I’m with you, they do seem to be overplaying their hand both domestically and geopolitically.
Speed maybe? I mean I sort of can’t imagine pissing in a urinal takes that much faster than a toilet, but it sure feels faster. Feels like a hit and run while using a toilet feels like a whole event. I’d never use a toilet if I was trying to be quick. Might be more psychological than anything though.
I think urinals probably take up less space too. A toilet requires a whole stall, and sure you can build a smaller stall, but you’re not beating the ability to push a bunch of urinals close together. Even better, though rare at least in the us, is the trough which is probably the best utilization of space. Often the case the women’s restroom will have a long line while the men’s has little to none - this might be one of the reasons?
Idk it sorta feels like Islamophobia is in vogue again among the hogs what with Mamdani becoming mayor, post-Oct 7 need to support Israel*, Somali childcare fraud fearmongering and preparing for regime change in Iran. Maybe not post-9/11 levels but I have no doubt they’ll get there
*obviously not true of all hogs since many oppose Israel due to antisemitism
I would like to know if anyone else remembers this being a “thing” for a while, at least in the USA (probably still is tbh): but for a while I remember people (mostly men tbh) joking about how if someone else is in the bathroom they will run the water for a bit without washing their hands, just standing by the sink so that other people in the bathroom think that they washed their hands. God forbid they actually wash their hands though. Thought this was dumb and disgusting but multiple unrelated groups of people in my life have publicly announced that they do this.
Ok so this is my problem I guess, none of those things really affect me. Don’t really bike or go camping, don’t use rowing machines and have never had a need for 3d printing. Video quality I suppose affects me but I never really had an issue with it before. I honestly would not have known it improved if you hadn’t told me. Linux I suppose affects me since I’d like to switch over one of these days.
See this is what started me thinking about this. Maybe I’m missing something but I can’t think of anything technology wise that has greatly improved my life within the past ten years. My phone does fundamentally the same things it did ten years ago, if you gave me my phone and laptop from ten years ago I would not notice a difference. I mean I just cannot think of anything that technology allows me to do today that I was fundamentally unable to ten years ago. But maybe I’m just not noticing something
I mean I get what you’re saying. Their first album especially is very joke-y and frat-y. Like there’s no doubt listening to it that this is rap music made by a bunch of white boys. But there’s a lot of manufactured white people rap out there and the beasties seem genuine. And as I say nearly all of their contemporaries give them respect which I think is big.
