  • What is a “non-racialized person”?

It is the literal translation of the equivalent of "POC" in Catalan and Spanish. Here racism is not only based on the color of the person, but also on ethnicity (e.g., Roma people) and obviously social class. We use racialized people (US: POC) and non-racialized people (US: white) in leftist spaces, but also in academic spaces. Also, as an example, it serves better to explain how a non-racialized Catalan could be a racialized person in the Anglosphere or in the 1993 Rwandan genocide.

OP was not raising “rational info,” he posted a political cartoon criticizing people for being upset about ICE murdering people who happened to be white. There’s nothing rational about that.

The number of deaths was a rational info. I would say that the comic criticizes the reality, and call the people to react.

  • Thanks for sharing it.

  • I'm a non-racialized person from a non-English speaking EU country.

But my understanding of OP post is that he wanted to raise some rational info that people in a justified state of rage should have. Info that could open a rational debate and/or introspection exercise of how mass media has been shown them and, also, how people are reacting to them… But mostly, it cemented the rage showing how systemic is the state violence against the people.

Reading some answers, my reaction has been:

WTF: Don't kill the messenger, redactedkill ICE.

  • His point is clear and based, there is a structural bigotry problem in the USA.

I cannot understand how you are so much up voted, and he is so much down voted 🤷🏽

  • The new platform, W, will require identification and photo validation to ensure that its users are both humans and who they claim to be, Danish news media outlet Politiken.dk reports.

    🤦🏽

  • I agree. It didn't deserve deletion and a permaban.

I want to add the community where the comment was posted, Manufacturing Consent, is about how the western media creates “popular” agreement about some policies that their bourgeois dictatorship constructs. The post was about the (non)enforcement of the use of hijab by women in Iran and how it was portrait by western content creators in social media. I think that Prunebut comment and the link were unrelated (whataboutism?), but of enough value to not be deleted or, if deleted for whataboutism —in the case that the community is flowed by whataboutism—, not ban or, at most, a short time ban.

Of course, if OP has been trolling on the community or the mods have clear reasons to think that hew was acting in bad faith, it should be a YDI. But I don't think that it's the case.

  • Excerpt from his biography at marxists.org, where you can find some of his writings translated into English:

Ghassan Fayiz Kanafani was a Palestinian writer and a leading member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

Kanafani was born on April 9, 1936, in city of Acre (Akka). During the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, Kanafani and his family were forced into exile in neighbouring Lebanon, but soon moved on to Damascus, Syria, to live there as Palestinian refugees. He enrolled at Department of Arabic Literature at the University of Damascus, but before he could complete his degree, he was expelled and exiled to Kuwait for his political activities with the Movement of Arab Nationalists.

When, in 1967, George Habash led the dissolution of the MAN and the formation of the PFLP, Kanafani joined and became one of its spokesmen. In 1969, he drafted a PFLP program in which the movement officially took up Marxism-Leninism. He was assassinated on July 9, 1972, in Beirut by car bomb planted by the Mossad.

  • The mods of the comm are @Deceptichum@quokk.au and @_cryptagion@anarchist.nexus (_cryptagion has a comment in that post). Have you contacted them? A permaban in this case, when you have edited the post explaining that it was homophobic and why, seems excessive.

    Edit: correcting mods links

  • Maybe you should add that Reuters is a British bourgeois-controlled propaganda medium owned by the 3rd Baron Thomson of Fleet, a Canadian and British media magnate.

  • the occasional Nazi sympathizers in the Ukrainian army look like child’s play in comparison [to Putin].

    [...]

far-right ideas are unpopular in Ukraine

    [...]

the regular people in Ukraine don’t care about [...] the political ideas [of the fascists in their army]

If they don't care, it should not be so unpopular, then.

  • My fault, I should have specified it has conservative and populist bias, and thanks for the other links. I don't think that his editorial policy 90 years ago must be seen as the current policy but, as you has shown, it seems to be far-right and fascist "friendly". I will edit my post to correct it.

I don't think that even it has a fascists bias, we should prima faze reject its content. We should be specially critical: It's a (wo)man-made story? What questions have been done? What narrative it's try to push? ...

The only thing that I think that we could agree is that in the article the fascist question is in various points of the article, but it not seems to be the more important points that the journalist wants to communicate (it's not in the firsts paragraphs), but the tittle gives it a special importance.

I'm not sure what is the position of each of the Europeans fascisms about the Ukraine war, then I cannot Annalise it in this case. As a curiosity: During one or two years I was infiltrated in a telegram group of a fascist Spanish organization, that organization broke up two years ago. The most important flamewars there that I read there, just before the broke up, were "Duginist"[1] fascist vs. "Atlanticist"[2] fascist related to the Russian-Ukrainian war.

[1]: For [Aleksandr Dugin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aleksandr_Dugin) fascist ideology. [2]: For pro State-Unitarians and pro NATO fascists.

Just to clarify: I was infiltrated for my antifascist militance. ACAB.

  • It's not (only) a Russian narrative, is a narrative shared by a lot of journalists specialized in fascism.

  • The low number of openly fascist parliamentarians in Ukraine is often explained by the crypto-fascist stances of other political parties: glorification of past fascists, racism, ultranationalism, xenophobia...

And yes, Russia has a fascist problem, like most other European countries, and, as in Ukraine, the limited presence of fascists in parliament can be explained in the same way.

  • According to Wikipedia, de Telegraaf is the largest Dutch morning newspaper, and not specifies if it has a political bias has a conservative and populist bias and based in some articles, it's far-right and fascist "friendly". Also, it's not a spurious claim, it's based in the interview of a mercenary that was in the Ukrainian Army.

What is your source that is a spurious claim?

Edit: Clarify the bias (see answers)
