  • I was thinking more the worship false idols except from when Moses came down from the mountain. These women doubtless would call themselves good Christians and somehow miss they're standing in from of a literal gold idol.

  • At least I can enjoy stupid corporate leaders lapping up the dogfood they're told to eat, except for the pain workers and real people suffer as a result of this yheft, trash and grift.

  • 💯. I would hope progressive (Dems not included obviously as they are corporate stooges) candidates make this their slogan for coming campaigns.

  • They don't think about you at all. It's just a grift, a game to win, and you're collateral damage. They are used to no consequences.

  • Yeah, but you don't get to keep your job in publicly traded companies if you aren't hitting the delusional talking points of people bent on burning society and country down so they can get a 9th yacht.

It's Fordism, the dude literally realizing his employees can't even eat there. Since most of his employees are on government assistance, it's true corporate welfare while he pretends he can't change things.

I hope Boston Dynamics is working on a robot that can operate a guillotine; we have an industrial scale of resetting to get through.

  • CEO: see, proof the productivity doubled with Agentic AI

  • It's similar to the irony of Google's keyboard autocorrect inserting an error when the user knows better. I typed all that on mobile and even got bullets to format, I'm proud!

  • It's appropriate that corporate barons in airlines, hotels and restaurant industries that have long funded Republicans for deregulation and union busting and poverty wages. They're now getting the full side of the coin which includes:

    • their chosen party destroying perceptions of safety and desirability to popular tourist destinations by claiming they are warzones while he deploys precious military resources to create said zones,
    • their chosen party arresting, deporting and discouraging the employment base of hotels and restaurants. No one else is going to do the work.
    • their chosen party doing incalculable damage to the reputation of the US higher education system and it's reputation by removing science and academic freedom norms by trying to politicize science, admission and revoke the first amendment.
    • their chosen party during travel into dystopian reality where social media accounts, your sexuality or your political beliefs determine how or whether you may be admitted to the US.

Airlines will be devastated with reduction in local (poverty wages, can't afford flights) and international travelers. Hotels will suffer as they should. I hope restaurant owners are decimated.

Have the economy and society you voted for you greedy, selfish, disgusting fucks.

  • 150-180k, yep definitely going to get mass adoption

  • He probably had some stock options vesting they thrye wanted to get ahead of. Nothing complicated, just standard greed at all costs.

  • What's the internet christened him with?

    I submit "El Chapeau"

  • His scene catering to racists looking to hunt natives in Maverick was Mel Brooks-level funny. His timing and delivery was 10/10. I didn't not know he was Canadian until I saw this. Only 73, but what an impact he made.

  • The Internet would be a problem. Depending on your cellphone plan, if you have the ability to tether with unlimited data, that could be your home internet. I would not try to work like that if you don't have good 5g coverage and unlimited tethering.

For the computer, companies, if they're legit, would provide you a computer to do the work they need you to, assuming it's a regular w-2 job. Only contractor/1099 jobs are where you have to provide your own equipment/materials for the job. Obviously you'd have to figure out a way to land a job in the first place via the internet, your local library would have Internet access I'd hope.

Hope you can get something to happen for you.

  • Apple isn't a marketing company? Wow, if anything I would say that singularly defines what has made them successful. They put out solidly mid hardware, but are the best marketers in tech and always were.

  • Yes, the economics around moving have changed a ton in the last 40 years, and people are moving a lot less as a result than they did in prior generations.

Obviously everyone's situation is different so it may not be possible for you, but if you are able to work, focusing on looking for remote/wfh jobs that can go with you in a move can be the difference in being able to move for many since the days of "oh I'll just move and look for a job when I get there" is really only for people who have lots of support and probably connections where they're moving. "Remote" isn't just for software engineers, there are many kinds of customer support, administrative and other roles that don't require specialized training that you could consider. They may not be your dream job but if it gets you out of a lifelong sentence to live in the same spot it might be something to look at if you already haven't. It also can be hard to land any job so acknowledge that.

  • Quiet I can hear you while we're auctioning off Bytedance/tiktok to US corporations. No hypocrisy to be found here.

  • What has kept you in the state out of curiosity, family, economics, other?

  • So rich they shouldn't have to contribute and support the rest of Canada health and welfare but yes suddenly they are poor

  • The venn diagram of people profiting from AI and people who strongly support AI is the Pam office space meme.
