  • Oh, don't wait, they're just building process and then will scale. More to come!

  • "conservatives" are capitalist handlers that use whichever line brings them the most money at the time. As long as they have good doggies who lap up what they are fed and lie down when told they can target and support Hispanics while profiting off cheap and powerless labor.

  • I have a savegame from 1980 pre-election; I'm Edge of Tomorrow-ing that until Regan doesn't get elected and we see what a world without deregulation and Clinton hollowing out the US with NAFTA looks like.

  • South Korea is a much smaller example but in the same boat. Getting absolutely bullied and disrespected. Came out and announced they would be forming more mature relations with China this week after Trump made an ass of himself to the Korean delegation last week.

For a smaller power, playing the two sides against each other so you hopefully get protected from each a bit is about the best play/outcome you can hope for.

  • Also drives business for healthcare providers. Everyone wants long-term, desperate customers with no alternatives with inelastic demand(will pay anything). It's the entire US healthcare model.

  • Stand up and do it with the EU or be broken. The digital services tax is sovereignty. You either have it or you don't.

  • We're putting Gatorade on the crops and they don't grow. Ground is broken!

  • Remember, it's important that technology and advancement only be used by capital, never by the underclass.

  • Haha, that's such a a great fuck you to trump. That said, terrifying the thought of Korea also slipping to the right, it will be hard to avoid between the literal rock(US historic relations) and a hard place (Chinese authoritarianism).

  • That flank. Sigh. I remember the turn after Occupy. It went from economics to being cool to just broadly bash men. I specifically remember outspoken, angry women at marches and protests and was like wait, where did the economics go? Like 60% of Republicans wanted wealth reform during occupy. It unfortunately coincided with really great--though apparently transitory--improvements in lgbtq rights. It was so weird to me that self-labeling "feminists" were suddenly talking like it was a zero sum game; for women to rise and improve and build and grow, men had to be put down. That is of course the language of someone seeking power, a charlatan, but it became quite normal. Even questioning the broad criticism of men wasn't appropriate in "liberal" press or circles for a good decade. The whole "yeah but bashing men isn't right/fair or clumsy” finally started working into the Atlantic, NYT and other large publications in 2023 but the damage had been done.

It of course drove lots of men right to the tall radio, podcasters--and those were young adults then--i can't imagine what it was like growing up since then as a young person with the normalization of some of this stuff.

  • Bezos owns the WaPo and was seated in the front row at the inauguration. Probably a coincidence.

  • I floored some smooth brain today by letting them know while Clinton was left of Bush II, Clinton wasn't a "centrist". I pointed out NAFTA was the most damaging piece of economic legislation to the US middle and lower class in the last 50 years. They assumed I supported right wing policy as a result. You know, because if you don't agree Dems are the good guys you must support the right wing, amirite?

Americans are barely literate, let alone educated. All they have are their feels now, which makes them easily manipulable apes, regardless of party.

  • I requested this (user configurable threshold options added) on Boost a few months ago, don't know if it's going to be put in.

Why is this idea down voted?

  • Yup. They also rewrote national broadband funding criteria so starlink would win most of the state contracts for funding. If the states are stupid enough to take it, the Elon Musk will own their citizens internet. Colorado just announced Starlink won half of all the contracts and Amazon the other half(I didn't even know Amazon provided Internet holy terrifying):

  • I spent the time on it because if you want to get someone there is probably a law to do so. This pathologically lying admin claimed and their followers still seem to believe they're going after the worst of the worst, when they're going after the jaywalkers.

  • We just did, you're now required to have Star link Internet as the criteria for what the government support has beEn rewritten so only satillite service can qualify. Elon musk now owns your connection to the world. You may experience difficulty connecting to some web domains and your homepage has been preselected for you. • Remarkable how the homeland security spoke person specifically calls out the center being used for the "worst of the worst" and mentions rapists and pedophiles, of which her boss is convicted of one and under investigation for the other. Doesn't bat an eye.

Imagine being insulated from reality to that degree, or just having the sense that those rules don't apply to some.
