  • Talk about feeling old I played almost all the games until 2006, but fewer of the list after and hardly from the 2016 one. Not trying to one up but figured good place to comment.

    It's been a fun time seeing progression over the years, haven't stopped playing since my first Gemini (Atari 2600 knockoff that played the same games) system. Going from 2d squares to a proper video representation has been awesome. I always enjoyed the graphic improvements the gameplay has had its ups and downs but the remembered ones did that part right.

  • Which is why billionaires should not exist. When you got enough money your toys are people's lives while you have fun trying to shape socities cause that's what you want.

    We got enough issues before they all decided to play with their toys. I'd say no one on a planet scale should have as much influence as these people do for a functioning society.

    Okay maybe when we have Dune level of planets (tens of thousands) in our realm...but not when we got one planet where some dipshit can destroy half the world by making a decision. Oh didn't mean the other obvious one this time but yeah still agree. He's only rich off a good bubble (co-founded paypal and invested in Facebook early) and probably off of other people's suffering. He got lucky with money and now has power to control how things work in many societies. I say societies cause I assume he has influence over other countries in some way.

  • You that's how they select the higher up and control the higher up. The files secrecy weren't just about hiding Trump's actions, they were about having control over others in them. If it's public he loses control over someone, then that someone may talk....

    Course we know how good that does anymore so unsure what the deal is.

    To be clear I think it's a huge deal but not much has happened from the files so why should the US president really care?

  • I always get my isp outers as pass through so network is controlled by my entry. I have never bothered doing much with it but it's nice to have the option.

    I used to use a ddwrt firmware for years but eventually my hardware could never keep up with my net speeds and manufacture firmware was faster. Trying an Omada network now seems alright but haven't added their wifi.

  • When my oven element died (according to my girlfriend made a huge light then that's it, repair guy said it basically welded) and we had a guy in to check it out he sent some recommendations of brands to purchase based on his fixing (actually had a list ready so it had some random don't get their dryers but rest is okay for that brand) since it t blew the circuit board too. Though that was only a few months ago so hopefully it'll work out. I imagine many repair people are willing to let you know their experiences though may want a general place than say specific brand repair ones.

    It was amusing how apologetic he was that he couldn't fix it, I always assume that's a possibility but was still over $100 to get him there and basically lost money, if you were knowledgeable or prescient. I imagine others aren't so calm when they hear that.

    My dad was native but I never got the card, band was disolved or something and my dad kept trying but no luck. In the end I'd rather all people have the best rights, we should all have the same rights and then being the best (dental medical education etc). We all live here and want this country to prosper. But evidently the government says that's not cool. Mean I'd still take our government over the fucking tangerine down south. Fuck that shit but it's be awesome if we offered everyone advanced schooling and good social net regardless, it only helps build our country.

    To be fair I'm not saying anyone should have less we just need to all get the best from our government. I do understand that first nations have been given the shaft but I'd hope the best for everyone gives everyone a boost. Or at least those that need it, cause we're a decently well off country.

  • I always just assume any adaptation will be less than average, then if it's better it's a bonus for something I've enjoyed reading (listening to in this case for me) and just accept it as is. If worse well I didn't expect much.

    These days I mostly hope they don't change characters too drastically if not then it's noticably better (most times). Or at least not give off certain bits to other characters or pass them uplooks at Dune, Paul needed to cry
