  • I do see what you're saying but how I see it, and thinking of all the awful movie tie in games from NES era, ET felt better than average in theme. He had to find the phone pieces and avoid the government agents while wandering in the woods. Not too too different from the movie theme in overall thinking.

Now I'm not saying gameplay was good or anything but think of all the cheesy tie in movie games of the NES era, they're all some random platformer which sometimes alluded to they had a movie name. Of course there were good ones but best ones I can think of were Duck Tales and Rescue Rangers, not tied to a specific movie or episode. Then you get your Back to the Future has little to do with the actual movie.

  • It wasn't so bad if you were a young kid in the 80s. Least my experience. Like what, I supposed to kill the shield of yars revenge again? Well that was more fun but still, needed variety.

That said would I play it again? Fuck no. Course I wouldn't frost my hair tips again either, or willingly wear neon either.

  • I had fun playing it in the mid 80s but I didn't have a ton of games at the time either. Have a fond memory of it overall (maybe because I liked the movie), and still enjoying video games these days. Don't think I played the Indiana Jones one to compare though.

  • I'm in my middle aged years, whatever I've read of him seems hopeful if he's the future. Also not from the US but if they can vote in someone like that for, what is considered one the the top cities in the world's, mayor that is encouraging. If elected I hope he proves what is better for people.

Seriously we always have someone okay vs someone that wants to take away benefits from the less well off of our neighbors and friends (I will say I'm luckier but not exactly out of that group). It's refreshing to see someone to least state he wants to make a better balance.

Heaven forbid billionaires make a few less dollars that they only use to influence things to their preferences. No one is perfect but his ideals have merit it seems.

  • I always liked that one....*old ex raver, still love the music for sure. Actual shirt I owned was 'I said no to drugs but they didn't listen'

Edit, I always thought raves was my generation's summer of love. Diluted but I think the idea for many were the same...of course not for all, but it's how I felt it sometimes. The best people to be around were always so positive, and I so wished the millennium ushered in more positivity than how it happened. But .. yeah we all know what happened early 2000s.

  • Yeah can't imagine a bunch of girls having a great time there, especially once he ends up dying for his ideals (if not now then later). Leaving a mother and daughters. Pretty sure this is the guy who didn't even know the language while getting training before he was pushed up to the front. Can't imagine thinking any probable outcome is better for anyone involved, but the kids definitely don't deserve whatever happens.

  • This isn't directed to you just where I ended up replying.

Not even from the US but those brown shirts gotta go somehow. I hope there is a reckoning before their final crayon drawn plan.

Also I understand the people with the plan don't use crayons that's the worst part. Everyone is allowing an imbecile to be the figurehead while the people in charge have a proper plan that is being acted out. Not nearly the front facade that the US used to try and have for sure. We all knew they did shit, but we're mostly half decent. Now it's full on Nazi.

The imbecile tore down like an arm of what the US called the beacon of democracy (East Wing). And no immediate protests, general strike. If the population doesn't do something who will? Oh yes let's let other countries handle the largest military on earth.

  • Not helpful for the question but it made me remember one book I read on Buhhism that was written by a punk artist that used to be around Ohio? Crap can't recall the place think Akron was a city spot. Seemed like a fairly small artist from whati recall of the stories.

It's fun to see where punk comes up is all, was never my particular taste for sound (or scene really) but I think their messge is awesome. Think all systems need their message reflected in controversial art, may not agree with their sound but so far a lot of messages have sounded better than the status quo. And sometimes seeing what the system brings shows what may be needed for change.

It'd be nice one day if punk couldn't have the same message cause we did better for ourselves as society.

  • Not who you replied to but I never knew that term. I haven't bothered to read up much on ADHD oddly (over the years) but once I realized I had it the medication helped immensely. Mean I did read a bit but that was like 15 years ago and all now.

Least this area helps me understand that much of my usual stuff may be from ADHD and all. Like sometimes I read stuff and go huh I didn't think that may be why. Mean probably not always but still it helps knowing similar people have those issues.

  • Doesn't Deadpool fit in there too? Amusing cause he's not in 'those' movies. Never read those comics but just reading about Thanos, Deadpool and Death seems neat.

  • I don't recall his growth with Alexander in TNG much (yes need a rematch and he probably has more growth in other episodes) but he did seem to be a better citizen in DS9, probably better writers but I always enjoyed Worf regardless. He always seemed like he was trying to better himself for his society as stubborn as he preferred to seem.

Though I will say it takes a warrior to enjoy prune juice in their glory days. Well not really but I like to think so for some of my days

  • What's an extra 20 billion between despots? Like a rounding error eh? Actually unsure on the Argentina side but if Trump okays billions I think that says enough.

  • Isn't it fun and I see how historical writings show us we aren't really all that different? And yes I'm there often.

I do really enjoy seeing things like that, like when I thought I was young and people were all original....nope we're rarely original, be all who you are even if it's been done. Go Darwin being all melancholy for something preserved. Maybe a bit goth too.

Also enjoy the Pompeii graffiti to show us bathroom stall writings aren't original.

  • Mean I knew the amphetamine bit with the Nazi's in general (and well the go pills bit) but always appreciate reading the more in depth explanation of something since it's usually been awhile since I've heard of it.

Also for the others that haven't heard of it, it's kinda like those old pop up facts in music videos heh. Those made the music you didn't care about much worth watching.

Shit will our history classes become pop up videos one day? Well if people learn it could be worse as long as they're actual facts.

  • I hope people at the No King's Protest will all understand escalation is their goal, of course there's a chance Yam Tits will make a royal decree that they're all to be arrested to spark the powder keg. Which will happen cause Wormtongue, I mean Miller, says so cause evidently everything pro democracy is an insurrection in the US now.

  • I'm not sure about other's amount of thought processes, but there are ways to lessen their impact. Mindfulness meditation helped me recognize and not engage with those thoughts, takes practice but it helps keep your mind on what you're doing rather than other things. Admittedly I haven't kept up with it but I did notice an improvement when was.

No way to actually stop the thoughts as far as I know and to be able to let the thought pass without spending time on it takes practice. Also you tend to fail at it a lot but even then you catch it more quickly to move on.

  • Want to mention, from his In Writing book, he was writing Carrie in his laundry cupboard (didn't sound like enough to be called a room more like a closet with appliances). Also even if that's is his preference, sounds like he was suggesting a simple dinner. Make some fish for a quiet date, good suggestion if you're not familiar with the oven. I don't believe fish was always so expensive either, prices skyrocketed at one point, my mom used to buy chicken wings when money was low (80s), now they're expensive as shit comparatively.

  • Has Trump been seen recently even? I think that's Miller posting on his account. You know the 'real' president. May as well be since Trump doesn't do much and we all know Miller is a fascist dickhole. Spread the word, Miller is the one calling the shots.

Also many articles of Miller yelling about ICE quotas and crap if you look, so no wonder this would hit a nerve with that douche in charge that's M-I-L-L-E-R, the Nazi wannabe (if you never saw it see the show he did with spray on hair, seriously that asshole tried it and went on tv just so you know how stunted he is). I bet Trump is great with his McDonalds, falling down stairs and strokes without having a real say in anything. I'm sure Trump loves knowing he has no real authority in the US beyond making their reputation shit. It'd really suck for him for everyone to learn him know he has less power than his South Park character.

  • Yup I recall a friend telling me of all these awesome things, not what the things were anymore but articles he read of Fable, and them not being there. He has a habit of over promising features while still making a decent (sometimes awesome) and fun game but it doesn't help when he talks up about things that aren't in the released version.
