everyone in government and in business here in vietnam is stealing and scamming. everyone knows it, and it's done openly. you only get "caught" when someone important doesn't like you anymore.
Mastodon is broken as fuck for me. I don't know if it's my instance, or the country I'm in, or what. The app mostly just spins and hangs. It's been like this for a year. I've never been able to see who other people are following, which is something I like to do to discover new content. I've never been able to view videos that people post. I joined in 2020 and I'm probably just going to delete my account.
you don't have to be good, and you don't have to apologize or explain your choices. the vegans who are jerks about it are right. their choices to act in ways which alienate them sometimes are their own. you can do the same or not. thanks for being vegan, either way
reddit and lemmy are nearly homogenous in terms of humor and politics and personality. there's a way to speak so that your comments aren't misunderstood and it often means prefacing what you're about to say with some context that wouldn't otherwise be needed, or ending with /s or something like that. if you've been here long enough you forget how weird this is
