  • TECHNICALLY, there is no such thing as a pull request in git. That's a Github convention. It's really a merge request

e: drat someone already out-pedantic'd me

  • Just #3 by the looks of it

  • And animal abuse :)

  • it's actually remarkably easy to install and remove if you dont want it. Last time I used asahi it was cool but not ready for daily use. The m3 is a powerful little chip. I'd use that machine as my daily driver laptop whenever I needed it. Can do coding, music stuff, video editing, etc. I can do all that on my m1 pro, even!

alternatively, sit at a coffee shop, put a mech keyboard on top, and type a pretentious manuscript hoping someone will notice how cool u r (:

  • I want to pay a botnet to upvote this comment

  • I like this thought experiment and think about this a lot. However this does nothing to remotely indicate the existence of the Abrahamic god. People tell you with certainty that god exists and he's three persons and jesus rose from the dead yada yada. That's a complete fantasy derived from literally nothing.

No proof but still believe? Faith.

Not believing in something that has zero evidence requires no faith. I don't need faith to tell you Cthulu isn't real

  • It doesn't require faith to NOT believe in something. It requires faith to accept religion which cannot be proven.

  • "Concentration camp" evokes the Nazi style death camps. The USA's version of this was/is decidedly less about mass extermination of a race. Still a concentration camp, still repugnant. I think the terminology is loaded and it makes it harder for people to understand. Not to mention the dearth of education we have which certainly isn't helping...

  • red ring of death

  • The gap exists between identical positions -- that's like the whole thing

  • For real! Forced assimilation? Bad! Tianemen Square? Bad! Subsidizing EVs? Semi-planned economy? Seems good. Like literally anything it's a mixed bag. Nuance is lost and so are we

  • Chromium

    Jump
  • It's just firefox. If you encounter websites that break or look bad on firefox, theyll be just as broken on librewolf. There are many web standards firefox is behind on.

That said, vivaldi is the best chromium choice and Librewolf is the best FF choice. I use librewolf when adblocking is paramount, like on YT

  • To be fair, heading off implications of racism first and then saying "Russians" still reads poorly to me. I see now that wasn't OPs intent, and we agree

  • You think Red Hat & friends are just all bad sysadmins? Source hut maybe...

I think there's a bit of both: poorly optimized/antiquated sites and a gigantic spike in unexpected and persistent bot traffic. The typical mitigations do not work anymore.

Not every site is and not every site should have to be optimized for hundreds of thousands of requests every day or more. Just because they can be doesn't mean that it's worth the time effort or cost.

  • Im sorry for assuming! You said "Russians" and I've seen lots of people not differentiate between the despots in power and the people who live under their fist, and it makes me sad.

  • Without doubt or racism? Every man, woman and child in Russia? Would it be racist to hate all Afghans because of the Taliban? A portion of the population supports this, but they live in a dictatorship, a kleptocracy. If you do not feel sadness for the loss of Russian life then you're missing part of your humanity. They're conscripting innocent and ignorant people and throwing them into a blender. The whole thing is disgusting.

You don't have to be racist to call Putin a war criminal, or indeed those Russian soldiers who commit those crimes. You can support Ukraine 100% without hating every last Russian. I invite everyone to remember that the true enemy is Putin and oligarchs everywhere

e: this is not directed at op as they have clarified they r talking about the russian oligarchy
