  • Just look at the people in charge of the Democratic party. Especially the ones who are planning to die in office to leave behind a legacy.

They're just conservatives in sheep's clothing. They've done the bare minimum to seem left leaning, but they're currently clinging to power and are refusing anyone with "socialist" views to get any power. They've been blocking Bernie for over a decade, they're making sure AOC doesn't make big tweets that would overshadow their Newsom puppet, the DNC changed their rules to prevent new blood, etc.

  • Specifically the "open" web. They recently said the web was thriving from their point of view. Since they're a major part of what is "closing" the web.

  • Why would you even think otherwise? They're corrupt to the point where one of them has been openly shown and proven to accept bribes.

  • Okay then, I guess if your kid has a terminal cancer we can also feed him to the tiger? After all in the end it's just a bunch of meat.

That's a weird comparison, and it's honestly a sign that you are struggling with separating the two on an emotional level. Which is ironic based on your opening sentence.

  • US intelligence confirmed within a week that Egypt had warned them repeatedly, and again a few days before the attack. So even if they missed it themselves(which is highly unlikely), they at a very minimum ignored the warnings.

And when the PM quickly called that "fake news", it should have been a pretty strong indication for most people.

  • Why do they frame it as rights? Let's start with not fucking killing them, I'm pretty sure that's a little more fundamental than rights.

Because traditional news have drilled into many people's head that there are no innocents there, at all.

Some of them are so delusional that they think phrases like "Stop killing children" is said in support of terrorism. It's honestly 1984 levels of brainwashing.

  • That was lost a while ago, but it's nice more people are noticing that it's getting worse.

  • RBG did the same thing.

  • There are about twenty different people that are speculated to be inspirations.

  • erewhon (californian upscale grocery chain)

In this case "upscale" means "ripoff", it's $15 for orange juice, or a plain bagel.

  • Retire? Oh you're funny.

She is 100% planning on dying in office. She's obviously one those people who are obsessed with leaving a "legacy". In her mind she's going to be remember as the first female member of the House and a groundbreaking feminist who made way for others, etc.

Which would have probably stuck if she'd retired a decade ago. Now she's going to remembered as a greedy ghoul who intentionally sabotaged other politicians and held back society to enrich herself. This is too little, too late.

  • That's their goal for sure, what I mean is how are they pretending to justify it?

The same way they always do: "WONT SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN!?!?!?!1111"

  • Just for added comedy, that group I referenced is called "Bureau 13"..

  • It's exaggerated and massively understated depending on location.

There are several metro areas in the US with over 1 million people that has zero metro/subway or light rail, some of them don't even have a passenger train connections or stations, or at most it stops by once or twice a day. Places like Columbus Ohio that has literally zero rail passenger rail for over 2m people in the metro area. If you want to take the train from there to NYC you'll have to spend a couple of hours on a bus to a different city first. And it's not like they never had it, they razed the train station in the 70s.

Other places that lack light rail or metro and have 1m+ people in the metro area: Tampa, San Antonio, Indianapolis, Oklahoma, Memphis, Richmond, Louisville, Rochester, etc. with many of them having a very bad outside passenger train connections. There are also a bunch of others that almost slipped by or did stay off the list over technicalities like having a single tram line going up and down main street or similar. Places like Orlando, Cincinatti, etc.

  • Many billionaires live on a man made island ioff the coast of Florida?

It's inside the Miami metropolitan area.

Last cenus was in 2020, showing 41 homes and 84 people across 0.43 sq mi/1.11km2. It is sometimes referred to as "Billionaire bunker", because it's a gated community on an island, and the one bridge in and out has a police checkpoint, it also apparently has its own government and law enforcement. If you try to get close by water, a police boat shows up.

  • Why are dems endlessly talking about what messaging they should do?

Because it's all about the optics. They don't actually do any of those things, they just want people to think they are.

  • That's such a weirdly written article.

They bring up how summons increased tenfold from the first to the second quarter as if it's supposed to be some big shock. It went from winter to summer in NYC... People generally don't like biking when it's below freezing outside.

It's also mostly about delivery bikers. And some of them are famous for endangering themselves and others all the time, across several major US cities. That's been a thing for many years.

  • This is like seeing those php jokes in programming humor communities. Because they're clearly made by someone who is well over a decade out of date with their information.

For reference symbolic links were properly introduced in Vista(2006), but junction points were available before that.

  • Simply put: It's a fetish.

It's pretty common to not understand why some people like the things they do in fetishes. Most people don't find feet attractive, but some people become just as aroused seeing feet as others do seeing breasts.

(Some furries will insist up and down that it's not a fetish, and those people are lying. They'll claim it's about a ton of different things, but it's pretty easy to tell. Because the ones who deny it are the ones who like to push their fetish onto others.)
