  • Hey. I'm going through this right now. My server was 11, and I wanted to go to 13. I definitely didn't want to get into a situation where the server required hours and hours of repair.

I'm halfway there. The upgrade to 12 went smoothly. The biggest headache was glances, first from the lack of web interface (which I was ready for), and the lack of RAID support (not ready). I might do the switch to 13 next week.

  • That's a lot of effort just to Rickroll us!

Seriously, nice work. I'm always hesitant to use something like this because it's another thing that can go wrong. But the idea is really cool.

  • On second thought, let's not go to Clown Island. 'Tis a silly place.

  • We go through this on our group bike rides when someone who doesn't have the route is at the front of the group. The person behind can shout directions, if he or she is aware of the issue. It's good to do that anyway, because it's easy to miss a notification from your bike computer.

  • Oh yes. I can think of several houses with them.

I know one that has the US flag at the top, then a Trump flag right below it. Every time I go by the house it's there.

  • Show me the improvement, because all I see is fascists getting exactly what they want.

    They were getting that anyway.

  • But aren't some of the stories and responses AI generated?

If you take a dataset and fit a model to it, then use that dataset again to gauge the viability of the model, the model will pass with flying colors - because it is literally fit to the dataset you're using. You have to use "other" data, even cutting the original dataset in half and using half to train the model and half to test it, is better than nothing.

If much of reddit is bots, then this study would be bots feeding on each other.

  • I like your optimism...

  • No!

  • And swimming pools!

  • I've never seen men's underpants with pockets. But I'm also not researching the topic extensively, so it's possible this is a development in undergarment tech that I'm not aware of.

  • I'm pretty sure it wasn't installed by default in the previous version either, and maybe even the one before that. It's a useful utility, after you locate it.

  • Has the statute of limitations passed on complaining about the entire premise of the Mission Impossible movie series?

The original TV show was about a team of people working as a group to complete the mission, and I'm pretty sure it was essentially the same group each week. The movies (at least the few I've seen) are mostly about Tom Cruise completing the mission with some hangers-on.

I may have only seen the first one though. If I've seen any more, I've forgotten them.

  • Friends of ours raise chickens. Sometimes we get free eggs. It's the best of both worlds.

  • And OP was never heard from again.

  • Run!

  • This joke hasn't generated a lot of buzz.

  • There was a commercial a while back where they had a walrus named Duncan in goal for a hockey team, and he was blocking shots pretty well...until he started to fall asleep.

  • The snipers will get you!

    Definitely feels that way! lol

The pot is juuuuust about the size of the flame. I'd hate to have to dig out the bigger one every time I wanted to boil a hot dog or something. We make it work.

This Viking range....man. I get why people like them, but I probably wouldn't buy one if I were renovating, after having one. It's basically too powerful. I think we could burn water if we wanted to. Spaghetti sauce starts boiling on the lowest setting; there's no way to keep it warm without boiling it. Every time a recipe says "medium high" heat (for example), you best not set that dial above low-medium...and maybe not even that high. It's a monster.

  • I know this is a problem, as I see my wife deal with it frequently.

But understand that men's sizes aren't consistent either. I have a 32" waist...maybe. Some jeans and shorts fit me perfectly, some are way too tight, and some are way too loose. Even within the same brand and product. The jeans I have on today are pretty good for fit. A different pair of jeans I was wearing a few days ago required regular adjustments to keep from falling down. My weight hasn't varied THAT much.

The situation for men isn't as bad as women's sizes, though. I'd love to know how they think they can compress all of the different measurements a woman's body can have into a single number. At least they haven't tried that with men - for example, pants are waist and inseam length, so you can usually get what you need, or at least pretty close (notwithstanding the above issue). If they condensed that into one number, I have no idea how that would work.
