The OSs are android in the bottom yes. But not including google services. They are based on AOSP and that is no bad thing. If every car maker would have to develop their own kernel and OS we would have even less features and way more buggy systems. These companies just want to build cars, most of them are already dragging their feet when it comes to digitalisation and qualitative software experiences

The Volkswagen Group uses their in house infotainmentsystem developed by cariad, while most chinease brands uses their in house ones as well. Volvo, Polestar and Renault uses android.

As a Swede i think your system in the Netherlands sounds so foreign. When I was in school we always had 2 hot meals to chose between and a 'salad bar’s. All paid for by the tax system. No one should ever be forced to go hungry imo.
