  • "MLM" as in "Marxism-Leninism-Maoism"? I have no idea what this is though. The only mention of it that I have heard was a YouTube video discussing the Philippines years ago.

The other days, there was a guy discussing about Vietnam claiming Vietnamese kids have no idea who Marx, Lenin, and Mao were. Well, I can understand freting over Vietnamese kids not knowing Marx and Lenin, but Mao? Did the guy just ignore the historical disagreement and dispute just for the sake of being alarmist? Tbh, I did not like that guy.

  • Religion is a tool. A tool can be used for good or for ill. In the past, it was a tool of legitimacy and governance. In the modern day, it's still used. Reactionaries use this tool to hinder progress and sabotage socialist states. Socialist states manage and monitor religions, to make sure they are compatible with the socialist culture, co-existing harmoniously, and positively contributing to society.

  • Initially, I engaged with you because I felt you were being too alarmist. I gave you the benefit of the doubt. I thought that perhaps you was a foreigner who has no clue regarding the Vietnamese education system, that's why I explained it to you. Never had I thought that you would accuse me of spreading falsehood. I now have a good reason to suspect you of being a bad actor for whatever reason.

  • I was being serious. Yet you came here to troll. I'm very disappointed.

BTW, "kredditacc" is just a username. Nothing more.

  • Primary education doesn't teach about political ideologies. Ethics and History are the subjects remotely related. Ethics use the image of Bác Hồ as an exemplar. History frames the anti-colonial war against France/Japan and the anti-imperialist war against the US as fighting for freedom and independence. At least, that was how I vaguely remember it.

The more ideological subjects are only taught in higher levels of education such as high school and university. It is here that we would learn about capitalism, colonialism, imperialism, socialism, scientific socialism, revolution, incomplete liberation, complete liberation, etc. Although, they are not super detailed.

  • Everyone here knows, you don’t?

I have never tried writing a hit piece on Vietnam that somehow goes viral on social media, so maybe not. What then are you referring to?

  • I'm in some rural area.

I know being critical of VN is personally dangerous.

It's honestly depends. If you complain about "human rights" and all other Western cliche, then you would certainly be invited to a tea by the authorities at minimum.

I invite them to come learn the language and live here for a year and see for themselves.

I lived here my whole life.

  • Everyone who is not a kid understands what color revolutions are. The education system makes sure that they learn about it, in high schools and in universities. Those who chose to be willfully ignorant of it are probably either reactionaries or school drop-outs.

The loving-the-West symptoms were more prevalent in the near past than now, especially since we observe American society breaks down. Those who still worship white men are just ignorant.

The people of Vietnam also closely watch Fulbright. So even if they'd like to pull off that shit again, they'd have to be more covert about it.

The fight against reactionaries and peaceful evolution is a never-ending struggle. It's not a once and done thing. Both the people and the cadres are responsible. The people watch the cadres, the cadres guide the people.

Where in the South do you live? It's possible that the region you are in have some confirmation bias.

  • From the summary, I'll assume that Critical Theory is part of the "Compatible Left", right? I expect them to be championed by Western Progressive Liberals and Ultra-Leftists? I'll also guess that they focus on identities of individuals and the apparent superstructures rather than materialism?

  • Ask Lemmygrad @lemmygrad.ml

Someone on Twitter claim Woke and Critical Theory first emerged as Capitalism friendly alternative to Marxism. Is this true? What is Critical Theory? Are they allies or enemies to Marxism-Leninism?

  • This reminds me of my occasional encounters with ultra-left under some YouTube comment sections. They said that China and Vietnam are "not real socialism". Some even name China as "imperialism".

One of them said that Vietnam doesn't fit the "definition of socialism".

I told one of them that definitions don't create things, things necessitate defintions.

They tried bringing physics (Newtonian Gravity) into the debate which is quite sloppy because I believe I have a slightly better understanding of it than them. Regardless, I separate mechanical materialism (which is most natural science where things are largely static) from dialectial materialism (which are historical, economic, and political analyses where the subjects are aware of being observed). I also distinguish between dogma vs. science.

Then they said that "dialectial materialism is a philosophy, not a scientific method".

Then I thought to myself "Why the fuck do you lots follow it in the first place, then?! Some kinds of religions?"

Then I told them it's very much a scientific project. I also told them that, whilst I cannot convine them to drop dogmatism, if they want to preach their ideas, they better prove it on the grounds rather than sabotaging other people's socalist projects (i.e. actually existing socialist countries) on the Internet.

    They stopped responding.

  • Unfortunately for the extinctionists, most people in the world aspire to spread the human species and the biosphere of Earth to the stars.

Their belief is also unsound. A populous and growing population would support and protect each other better than a declining population.

I hope that this irrational ideology of theirs was but a consequence of Capitalism in the West.

  • The existence of misanthropy baffles me. Do they hate themselves? What circumstances have driven them to this end?

  • I currently use Firefox + uBlock Origin. I don't like Firefox that much though. Maybe I will switch to Brave or others someday.

As for unwanted recommendations. If you see recommended shits that hurt your brain, just click "Stop recommending this video" or "Stop recommending this channel". Your mental state would be so such healthier. This would also mean that you're telling YouTube what you actually want to see.

  • I'm not up to date with all the US domestic events. But the other days, there was a Vietnamese American[^1] who posted a Facebook post depicting a Statue of Liberty in a car with a bullet hole in her head. I wonder if this was related?

The post itself was in Vietnamese but the caption in the image was in English. I have forgotten what it says exactly now.

Anyway, I have also seen many comments (probably also from Vietnamese Americans) defending the barbaric act of the officer, giving all kinds of excuses. There was a comment in particular that say the she "resisted law enforcement[^2]" and "children in the US have been taught not to resist law enforcement" and therefore "her being shot was called for".

The defenders were probably MAGA of some kinds.

I didn't count how many comments are words of condemnation vs. how many are words of defense. So I don't exactly know how many Vietnamese Americans I can respect. This is not to mention, many of the condemnation could have come from actual Vietnamese nationals stopping by.

[^1]: I took a guess. Vietnamese usually don't care about American domestic politics. But sometimes American politics slip through the Vietnamese speaking space via Americans.

[^2]: The exact words were "Chống người thi hành công vụ" in Vietnamese.

  • I'm certain that the US will install its puppet into power. This puppet will enact a brutal and bloody suppression and oppression against the Venezuelan people, especially those who oppose them.

I wonder who the military are loyal to. Would the military side with the puppet regime to oppress the people?

  • Python requires a computer to run it.

I imagine there must be some quick *.github.io static site (written in JavaScript) that does the exact same thing.

  • I don't know much about immigration though. Regarding job, many Vietnamese companies are thirsting for tech talents. The pay won't be as good as the US however.

TIL that Stalin once refused to save his son from the Nazis because a Lieutenant of the Red Army is less valuable than a German Field Marshal
