  • I think we also should consider the machine of civilization can't be stopped once started. Steering it is a monumental effort. My best guess is they don't care, or simply can't alter the course we are on.

  • Candell-abra is how I was pronouncing it. Yes, I know it's the wrong way

  • Candelabra

  • I'm well aware that things are going to get dire. Venus by Tuesday, if the fish can be trusted.

  • I struggle to parse fast paced song lyrics, so often find myself listening more to the music than what they are saying. This has gotten me in trouble before.

Right now I am digging Dance with the Dead's "Driven to Madness". Reminds me of an 80s monster movie synth/metal album.

  • It wasn't the business that did this. It was the server looking for a one time bonus.

  • I modded r/collapse for a little under a year. Joined the sub back in 2012 or so. I still read it, though I no longer participate.

We are absolutely fucked. I have been through the stages of grief more times than I like to admit. My goal right now is to hurry my way through the stages when I bounce back and get to acceptance. Every once in a while something will trigger me and I will spiral for several days.

Once you get past the grief, the anger, the bargaining, the acceptance makes things clear. Our world is run by people who simply don't care. Their short life spans give them no ability to think long term for our planet or even our species. All they care about is the right now and fictional numbers going up.

  • Depends on the night. When it is me I do some simple sautéed vegetables, a rice, and protein (tofu or meat). Sometimes I branch out and do pasta or casseroles.

  • LORD is still out there if you look. I think they have leaderboards under a new name

  • I live in Seattle and have this happen all the time. The answer is "sorry, I don't have any cash on me."

I once had someone ask if I could venmo them some money, and once had someone ask if I had bitcoin. Crazy world.

  • That and Moonside are my favorite locations!

  • Oh we did

  • I went to a restaurant recently with my wife for our anniversary. Had great reviews on Google Maps above 4.5 stars. Yes I know this should not be the only indicator of a good experience, but the food sounded good and it was in a neighborhood we don't often go to. Something new.

When we got the bill, the server came to us and skipped past the food prices to the tip screen immediately. That should have been my red flag to stop and ask why she did that, but I didn't. I tipped 20%, then later found out that they already included that in the bill. So I tipped 20% on top of the total that already included 20%. Needless to say I won't be going back.

    1. Earthbound. I replay it every few years for nostalgia and just a feel good game.
    2. Xenogears. Hands down one of the best stories for an RPG.
    3. SOMA. The dark, post apocalyptic world is so gritty, I just love it. The ending really left me speechless.
  • Xenogears is an amazing story. I never got into the other games in the series. Do you know if they are worth it?

  • That's pretty rad, ngl
