  • I was so confused for a second until my brain processed the image you added

  • “I don’t understand why people have such an issue with it. These guys are just out here living life. They’ve been given an opportunity, and they’re like, ‘F it. Like, let’s just do it.’ They’re just having some fun. I think the people that are hating are] probably just jealous, and their lives are really boring …I mean, the more they hate on me, the more views I get, and the more money I make.”

  • There is a valid point in these people deserving a community (I don't think it should be this one, but still).

  • I likely don't notice always, most posts I don't comment on and then I don't check back either for example. But I glad you do your part. I think my only problem with the moderation is what post do and don't stay, I never saw a rude comment for example stay up for long. As op points out, a lot of political stuff do get their fair share of upvotes so it becomes hard to see if moderation is agreeing or not enforcing. But I think this poster saying 'I don't care if I break the communities rules, the upvotes prove the content is good' doesn't leave much room except for difficult choices.

  • The link is a newsletter with a summary of a bunch of articles, better would be to link to an individual article if you ask me.

  • I'd subscribe for sure! Cross-posting makes it so easy to share across multiple communities and also helps to 'switch-over'.

  • This op is basically the only one posting political content, but most days he actually is the only one posting to this community. Not sure about his motivation but conversations like this have been there plenty of times that they should know by now how a part of the community feels. A new community would only make sense if there is someone there welling to enforce rules.

Edit: I'm also subscribed here at goodnewseveryone /@piefed.social (cant seem to link it, try this: https://lemm.ee/c/goodnewseveryone@piefed.social), there is a lot less content there but it's all 100% uplifting news :)

  • As a Dutchy I am a bit sceptic about this, I mean the effort of the city is good so is their intention but it's also a bit weird this designation comes from a foreigner who talks about breda like an American tourist does about many people one bicycles here:

“I absolutely loved exploring Breda and learning about all the things they are doing to make their city greener, healthier and wilder – from restoring a river through the middle of the city to innovative community food growing programmes, tiny forests set up by schools, wildlife-friendly gardens and public art,” says Daniel Raven-Ellison, founder of the National Park City Foundation.

I mean at least half of those things are plans that are not finished yet. But maybe my Dutch ass is spoiled and I should not complain because breda is a great city town to live in I guess.

  • They sold the division to a Chinese investment fund, but I think the current manufacturer was already manufacturing these products long before. I didn't want to include my opinion in the comment because that wasn't my point but I probably wouldn't buy their stuff if it was owned by a European company. Maybe if a certain product range had good reviews but I guess it's mediocre across the board.

  • I don't feel the cars brand is always mentioned, but definitely more then other products like brand of jeans a thief wore or operating system a scammer used. I'm inclined to say low-effort news outlets would be more likely to fill their article with any information as long as it ends up as a decent length article, but might be a false assumption.

  • I see your one of the posters in the image, I believe you're right in thinking this is related to Europe

  • Most posts about Israel is not about the conflict itself but how eu deals with it, which to me is a post about europe. I would also say an article about "Trump announces tarrif on xyz" would not fit here, while "Von der Leyen dislikes trumps xyz tarrif" would. But I am biased, since I think this is a big issue in European politics and I believe if the anti-genocide people stay quiet the pro-'we need a good economy' people win.

  • he might be very very imperfect, but let's focus on getting the enemy, not the imperfect ally

  • there are anti-semetic people among the anti-genocide people, I don't know enough about BDS in Germany to say but we should be careful to allow anti-semetic thinking (both from the islamic side as the neo-nazi side) to get a foot in de door through the anti-genocide protests. totally agree with you on everything you say though, don't get me wrong.

  • Before anyone decides to buy something from the dutch electronics giant assuming it is dutch, they sold off their domestic appliance division years ago and the products are produced and sold by a Chinese company that licences the Phillips name. I don't think the quality changed, but I feel this is worthwhile mentioning in any buy european community.

Versuni primarily sells small appliances under the Philips brand (under license from Philips). These include: Air fryers, Rice cookers, Blenders, Kettles, Clothes irons, Clothes steamer, Vacuum cleaners, Air purifiers.

Versuni also sells domestic coffee makers, under the Philips, Gaggia, Saeco, Senseo and L'Or brands.

They sell a variety of home appliances in India under the Preethi brand, including mixer-grinders.

Philips-branded electric toothbrushes and rotary shavers, are not made by Versuni, but continue to be manufactured and sold by Philips itself under its Personal Care division. via: https://w.wiki/EFTD

  • A bit sad this seems to get more attention than locals that survive gunfire and missile attacks dying of starvation - but i guess anything that gets eu to fucking do something already is a step in the right direction.
