Thanks, nice article. Most of it doesn’t feel as news anymore, but this was:
“There’s currently no country in Europe where more than half of the population has a positive attitude toward the US, according to a YouGov poll published March 4.”
Oof.
I agree this is a problem.
I’m not saying don’t blame the hijackers, I’m saying blame the hijackers for the hijacking (which in turn killed thousands) and blame Bin Laden for planning it and getting those hijackers to do the hijacking. They’re both guilty, but without Bin Laden ordering 9/11 those hijackers wouldn’t have done it. I’m not saying they wouldn’t have something else bad. I’m not saying they’re innocent. But Bin Laden did something worse than those individual hijackers.
You’re right, but the referendum wouldn’t be about which action the voters want the Hungarian governmentment to take it would be about which action they want the EU to take. A government shouldn’t be able to sabotage the wellbeing of it’s people against their will. The EU should be there for the people, not it’s government.
It really is becoming an orange Gestapo. Quick fact, Gestapo (Geheime Staatspolizei) is an abbreviation for Secret State Police. Secstapo doesn’t sound as good tho.
Also, I recently came across this list. Might be useful for the American freedom fighters.
Twenty Lessons for Fighting Tyranny https://www.carnegie.org/our-work/article/twenty-lessons-fighting-tyranny/
I am really hoping this will mark the end of the EU shifting right. We’re much better off in the center.
Well at least this one speaks out, we should appreciate it while it still happens.
Wow, there might be more Tesla’s put of fire than there are Russians that fell out of a window now.
Thanks, for your summary. I think he’s right about different kinds of guilt being judged in different ways. If someone commits a crime and gets away with it, that doesn’t mean that person will never feel the guilt. It sounds like a good read.
I disagree, he’s not still in power because he fairly won free elections time and again. The Hungarian democracy is broken, especially because the media and legal system are compromised. There is plenty of people wanting Hungary to be a democratic country part of the EU. The same goes for Serbia, where massive protests are showing that more clearly at the moment.
Emotionally I agree, rationally I think I’d set a bad precedent if we give up on the Hungarians as people because we’re fed up with the actions of their government. Would be more fair to have some kind of referendum: stay in EU and ditch Orban vs leave the EU and keep Orban
I really hope the blue states will be able to protect and shelter at least a part of all the people being persucated. Nice to see this governer giving a good example
Not only trans people can girlcott you biggot
Please not another thing to worry about, there is so much going on already.
I read this earlier today, I am getting more upset by Israel each day while I have been thinking I’ve been at some maximum level of anger and sadness about the situation of the palastinans. Ive known Netanyahu is evil for a while now but so many Israeli are at is side I’m really starting to hate them.
I really want to believe you
Thanks
Never knew this, thanks
