Maybe they're planning on some brief bombings that will blow over in the media afterwards. A big media campaign for a short war is not really needed, could even be counterproductive. Just show up and bomb who you want and assume western media won't care & western public won't notice. A reasonable bet honestly.
Should not have checked the yc thread. Like 2 people rightly calling this out, and everyone else either saying this is fine, or maybe it's not fine but it's China's fault actually. My expectations were low going in, but not nearly low enough. Worse than the twitter thread, and also smug.
Intuitively, it seems like a big influx of DoD (or MIC) contracts could be profitable enough to justify a lot of these investments. But I'm pretty lost on the scales involved here: how much money would that realistically provide, and is it actually enough given the massive scale of investment in all this? Does this pencil out, or is the bubble too big for even that to save it?
Yeah, true, but it's also reasonable for a guy that works in media/entertainment to live in a (the?) major hub for that industry, even if it's not strictly necessary.

When those soldiers arrive (assuming they do) the world will see a wave of "liberating the camps" style images. And all those collaborator regimes will have their soldiers now talking face to face with western genocide victims, fraternizing. How can these countries sign on to some new normalization with Israel after their soldiers have seen Israel's deeds first hand? If this actually happens, this will be a new stage in Israel's isolation and eventual collapse.
