  • People keep saying this, but Valve could easily prevent companies buying up Steam Machines simply by limiting purchases to a X amount per account. If they are worried about people creating burner accounts just to purchase Steam hardware, they could require the accounts to be a certain age or a minimum amount spent on Steam. Not saying they will or should do this, but they could.

    Da steht nur das:

    Da steht nichts davon, dass der Spender einem Treffen zustimmen muss.

  • So weit ich weiß gibt es in Deutschland kein Recht den Spender (Spender != Vater) kennenzulernen, sondern lediglich das Recht zu erfahren wer der Spender ist. Ein Recht auf ein Treffen gibt es glaube ich nicht. Recht auf Unterhalt gibt es auch nicht (außer evtl. bei einer privaten Spende).

    Ich denke die Gründe warum Menschen ihren Samen spenden sind unterschiedlich. Ich wäre auch dazu bereit, wenn es in Deutschland die Möglichkeit gäbe anonym zu spenden, auch ohne Bezahlung. Einfach weil ich weiß wie viel so eine Spende einem Paar bedeuten kann.

    Edit: Es gibt btw. auch Frauen die Eizellen spenden. Das ist weitaus aufwändiger für die Frauen und trotzdem wird es gemacht, obwohl die Bezahlung in der Regel nicht besonders hoch ist. Nur in Deutschland ist das (im Gegensatz zu den meisten europäischen Ländern) leider nicht erlaubt.

  • Yay. I ride Pirelli ones, but RideNow from Aliexpress are fine too. They are lighter and better rolling, more compact and I feel they are less likely to puncture (and if they do, more likely to puncture with a slow leak so you might get home just by re-inflating it). There are no downsides compared to butyl imo, besides the price (which isn't an issue if you get cheap ones from China) and I puncture so rarely I don't care about the added cost.

  • Ich komme ehrlich gesagt trotz allem ziemlich gut klar. Natürlich macht mir das alles auch Sorgen, aber ich glaube ich habe mich einfach ein wenig dran gewöhnt, dass alles so absurd scheiße ist (was nicht heißen soll, dass ich mich damit abfinde).

    Ich find's aber gut, dass du fragst. Wie geht es dir denn selbst?

  • It's quite rare to run into a Gatekeeper warning. Most users probably won't ever see one. And if they do, they can still bypass it for an individual app using the UI. It's just a bit convoluted (by design).

    I administer a bunch of Macs for a university and I actually block the ability to disable or bypass Gatekeeper and nobody has ever complained about it.

  • You can disable Gatekeeper entirely using the terminal. They just don't expose the option in the UI anymore (which I think is fine).

  • I have a PC running Windows 11 Professional that I use exclusively for gaming. It works fine for that and it doesn't annoy me with OneDrive or Copilot etc.

    I'm open to switching to Linux on that machine if Windows starts to annoy me, but as it stands Windows runs all my games without issues and I can't be arsed messing with things that aren't broken.

    I wouldn't dream of running Windows on a computer used for anything other than gaming though. Currently I use a Mac as a daily driver, but I've also used Linux in the past. The main reason for using macOS is that I spend too much time messing with computers at work to want to do it in my free time too. The Apple ecosystem makes it easy to have everything integrated without much effort. I'm aware it's probably an unpopular opinion around here.

  • Ich sehe jetzt nicht wirklich den Unterschied darin ob man sein Bekennerschreiben mit "LG, Vulkangruppe" oder einer digitalen Signatur unterschreibt. Wenn man nicht gerade dumm ist und sich mit dem private key erwischen lässt sollte das in Sachen Repression ziemlich egal sein.

    Der Sinn davon ist, dass dann eben keine Diskussion darüber entfacht, ob dass eine Aktion von Links war, oder ob es doch der Kremlin gemacht hat. Im Zweifel kriegste ja dann noch mehr Repression ab, weil du zusätzlich noch für Sachen verfolgt wirst, die dir bloß untergeschoben wurden.

  • Surely it should deny any requests to put people in bikinis, regardless of whether they're dead or not. And based on my attempts of pushing the limits of various AI models (admittedly I haven't tried recently), to create weird stuff, it's definitely possible. At least without some creative jailbreaking. I haven't seen this guy's prompt, but if he straight up requested "put this woman in a bikini" it should absolutely refuse. That's not to let the guy making the request off the hook, but X is clearly to blame too.
