  • Obliged or not when there is an investigation, there are valid reasons to not assist. From protected information to 5th amendment stuff. However, if they defy a court order to hand it over, that would be a crisis.

    It needs to be requested by a judge not an officer.

  • I have the momentum 4. Sound is good. Touch control is good. They are comfortable and I find lots of other brands are not. One issue is they often don’t automatically come on when removed. I assume it’s due to build up like earwax over the sensors but I didn’t have a problem with other brands. I would buy them again. My husband says talkin on the mic is poor for phone calls.

    My previous earbuds were pixels, for comparison. I was happy with the pixels, but found the pass through and sound isolation clunkier to use. Momentum is simpler. Pass through or noise cancelling.

    My grandmother had a dog called toffee as a child, so I like that. My parents in law had 2 jack Russel's called rom and Jerry. So a cartoon character is an option too.

    I just don't think I want to call out "here buttcrack, here girl. That's right, do a poo buttcrack" at the dog park. Maybe it's different with cats as you don't tend to speak to them in the same way due to their underlying contempt.

  • I'd much prefer these bikes are on the main bridge platform rather than on the pedestrian part. The article makes it sound like they should have stayed off the road.

    I think requiring licences would be sensible at this point. For bikes AND ebokes that are using the roads. Sydney is becoming more bike friendly with cycle lanes, but there are lots of awful cyclists who whizz through pedestrian only areas and ignore bike signage and lights.

    Part of the problem is that it's still car centric. Anywhere there is an intersection, cars are given right of way instead of bikes. That's starting to change with bike turns across traffic being indicated with a box placing them in front of car cross traffic. So, I you are turning left, from a bike lane.on the right, you wait in a box further right. When the lights change, you cross before the cars do. Seems sensible.

    Unfortunately, there are lots of parts where a car turning across traffic or bike lanes is prioritized before bikes going straight.

  • They've tried, but nobody speaks their language. Unfortunately even Google translate and ai have difficulty with new stuff as they haven't been able to incorporate it into their models as yet.

    The big fear, from a technical standpoint is that by the time that is done, they will no longer be teenagers and will be able to speak the common tongue. By then, well all be dead from cycle accidents on social media.

    Phones and ipads can usually be locked down. While that is possible for laptops, it's not typical, except for the log in. It's becoming more common, which is good for overall crime.

  • Lots of words have unified origins. They diverge to allow 2 different concepts to be named. Calling someone a cleric still means something different to calling them a clerk.

    However, a clerical error could be ambiguous. Likely as the term was less common, and so didn't have enough usage to warrant divergence.
