  • Maybe it'd be helpful to piggyback some buy Canadian attitudes? Because if this keeps up for the next 5 years Canada will be way behind the US on cycling. Right now it's a shame, but given time it will become genuinely shameful.

  • Cool. Lemme just paint the ceiling with my brains so I can approximate what it was like when I wasn't around.

  • I hear all of that, but I'm going to maintain some hope since otherwise I'm stuck on google hardware for the foreseeable future.

  • And that's how I earned the nickname pigpen on a camping trip.

  • The geographic diversity of my genetics stretches from England to Scotland. Guess I'm a product of "good immigrants." Therefore I won't be demonized for who I was born, they'll have to demonize what I've learned and who I am.

  • Anything in particular I should be wary of switching from Mint to Mint DE?

  • Their saliva is mildly toxic so if you're unlucky enough to be allergic you could get an annoying rash from a bite.

  • The top 1% of the top 1%. The guys that play God without permission.

  • Oh thank god. Please let this actually get cut from the bill (not to say there isn't plenty more that's fucked in there.) Also fuck his characterization of what we wouldn't sell. Makes it sound like no big deal but he conveniently left national forests off that list.

  • Sure, but if you choose to be reactionary rather than understanding you'll often be in the wrong. My city has some new bike paths where it's easy to accidentally wind up walking on the bike paths. We are still in a state where many conflicts are due to infrastructure. Are we trying to build better streets for everyone or are we just gonna shift from cars to cyclists owning the streets? When I bike my first thought after safety is being considerate and understanding, not demanding.

  • I think many cyclists refuse to acknowledge how much they carry over from car brains. Minor inconveniences should be common and expected. Some bikers react to someone jogging on a bike path as if their life were threatened. Save the anger for legitimately dangerous situations like sprinting into the lane without looking or excessive speed.

  • These are cool, but I highly doubt anyone uses theirs regularly. What we need are makerspace-backed hyperlocal recycling projects. A much more expensive but much more effective method to recycle the same PET bottle would involve a plastic shredder and proper filament extruder. And old 3D prints? Sort them by color and material, they can go through the exact same process. Pulltruders can still be a useful tool, but more for education and spreading awareness than a practical source for filament.

  • Any day now...

  • The greatest revelation of true adulthood is understanding just how much of your life up to that point was a phase. You thought you were "different", better, smarter, invulnerable. I hope to have the chance to run into people I thought less of while in school and discover they are living full lives beyond our origins. Every time I cringe at something I said as a teen I try to remind myself that others grew beyond their failures too.

  • These fuckers probably compare themselves to climate protesters unironically.

  • Just to make some of you feel old: I'm gen Z and I'm 25.

  • I would suspect some sort of scheme bringing cans from a neighboring state or whatever without a deposit. Just one more reason to wish for a national deposit program in the US.
