  • I recently upgraded to the 9 pro (non xl) with 1tb. Honestly I think it comes down to budget and desired years of remaining support. I found the 9 pro appealing since it's the first non-xl pro, and because the spec jump is larger than usual.

Some of the reasons I picked 9 pro over 8 pro:

    • 16 GB of ram instead of 12. (Increased for AI background stuff but on graphene we can use it all)
    • 25% boost in screen brightness
    • one gen newer processor of course
    • again, it's not massive but still has all the cameras

I will say I hate the rounded corners. And as others have pointed out the a series are still great, and used ones can be a bargain with the 7 years of support.

  • This man has been determined to not be the shooter. The current implication seemingly that the real shooter's whereabouts are unknown.

  • ... That is absolutely not all it requires. The document you linked is only 19 pages long. Surely you can be bothered to look past the first two? The platform must police itself per the rules in the document or face license revocation, and the rules are broad and have the classic 'contrary to national interest' out for whatever the government wants. The point of a separate platform is that nobody is going to enforce these rules globally, so it would have to be a Nepal only branch of the site.

  • Basic safety regulations? I just skimmed the 2023 act and that shit was never gonna fly, and it feels like that was the point. Basically the only way way anyone can comply is to branch off a Nepal version of their site and do whatever they're told.

And I don't know why we'd be acting high and mighty here. mastodon and presumably lemmy are blocked along with the rest.

  • As a resident of Salt Lake City, host of the 2034 winter Olympics, I want to wow the Europeans that visit. We will not be limited by our national politics. I will continue to throw my time into OSM because I believe it will change the world beyond it's ambitions. I'm stuck on the idea of a community map.

  • You can buy a Pixel 7a which has two and a half years of software support remaining on Ebay for under $200.

  • We voted for independent redistricting in Utah a while back. They turned our progressive stronghold into the center of a pinwheel, but recently a judge ruled against that map. Utah is probably gonna be 3rd after Texas and Cali in a lot of these headlines soon, even though we only have one seat in dispute and the most cut and dry redistricting situation.

  • 1000% a solarpunk game shouldn't be about modes of powering systems, it should be about social structures.

  • But is it bidirectional? I hate when I pick up an adapter only to find it doesn't support chicken soup to HDMI. Like my PC has chicken soup out, not HDMI, that's why I need an adapter FFS.

  • Me disassembling and reassembling a pen during a big meeting. It's either that or I click it the entire time, your choice.

  • Holding your own certs and constantly reviewing your and your users threat models. Cloudflare's excessive control comes from them being a proxy.

  • Naturally, yes.

  • Just did it for a tractor. Was not fun.

  • Smashing flock cameras is an acceptable alternative. Though you'll need some decent numbers to measure up to serious nazi punchers.

  • Legitimately sending best of luck from the US. We may be the star of the show right now but there are many fronts to this war and on the privacy/security front it's crazy that you guys somehow seem to have it worse.

  • A notable exception to equal opportunity law in the US us that you are allowed to discriminate against an individual on the basis of their age, as long as it's not old age.
