I have proximity unlock and my car is parked (at home) just close enough to my catch-all tray where I store my keys to constantly lock and unlock. It usually teeters on lock/unlock so closely that a person walking between the two will trigger it. So, to prevent a dead battery or stolen car, I keep my fob in a faraday bag.
My preference is just Cloudflare with or without nginx. Not sure if you’re using a hypervisor or not but it makes things exceedingly easy and I feel plenty safe enough inside of a Cloudflare tunnel. I stream a lot of data from Jellyfin. All day long, several streams to several people for over a year now with no problems. Last I knew, Cloudflare removed the language about video streaming from their TOS. Not sure if that’s changed but functionality on my end hasn’t.
I am using Unraid but I’ve installed the Cloudflare tunnel in docker containers and TrueNAS without many issues. Takes a bit of copying/pasting to get set up but it’s not terrible and everything is very responsive to make sure you’re doing things correctly.
I’ve seen it twice. In two people who are prone and had some mental instability issues. I am almost certain a mentally healthy person would never have any kind of an issue.
I’m not a doctor or scientist, but here is what I saw and what I believe happened.
Their mental health decline caused them to increase their intake by a decent amount. I think untreated, they would have had the same outcome in less than a year. But the weed sped things up a great deal. What should have taken months happened in just a couple/few weeks. One of them ended up standing on top of a police SUV downtown after giving away pretty much everything he had to homeless people. Including his wallet with his ID, social security card and debit/credit cards. It was the safest and quickest way to get him help so it ended up being a good thing. I tried everything I could in the days before that. Delusions of grandeur, constant tinfoil hat shit, thought he was being directly targeted by the government alphabet agencies because of what he knew.
They’re both fine now. But I do believe the increased potency in modern weed negates many previous studies on the effects it can have. I’m not against it in the least. But definitely more wary.
California is on fire. Enjoy your avocados while you can (admittedly, the fire I don’t think is near any avocado farms, but we’ll see)
fetishistic way>
I guess it was only a matter of time before I was called out on what I do with queso.
It sounds like you’re saying Garland should’ve “gone rogue” or broken the law to take down Trump>
Not in the least. He ignored the law and most importantly, justice, in the process of appearing apolitical. He waited forever to appoint Jack Smith, he didn’t file charges for sedition or treason against any members of the Trump cabinet when it was obviously needed to at least bring details to light, he didn’t go after any of Trump’s kids (or Kushner) for illegal monetary gain when newspapers had plenty enough details to do so, and he let the Hunter Biden lawsuit continue after it was obvious they had no real cause. All in the process of appearing apolitical. Republicans would have had a hard time getting better outcomes from having one of their own lackeys in that position.
He doesn’t just run the department of law and order, he runs the department of justice. And we got none of it during his tenure.
Merrick Garland deferred to decorum at every turn. Knowing full well decorum is not an option in organized crime.
Just because a suspect twisted a political career into his organized crime does not mean it shouldn’t still be treated like organized crime regardless of the political optics.
When you’re a complete idiot who doesn’t know how anything actually works and you have no scruples, of course you’re not ruling anything out. The media is playing the same game of treating this narcissistic moron like a thinking human and we’re here buying the headlines.
And that’s fine. Totally fine. I wouldn’t use judgemental words or words with a negative connotation to describe their lack of storage because I feel that’s an absolutely fine stance to have.
You keep saying “hoarding” but I think you mean collecting/protecting in many cases.
It is now, for people who have some form of income into old age. When all the pensions are milked dry and social security and Medicare are on the chopping block, longevity will go along with it.
How many gay billionaires is he up to now?
In the US you have just enough time off to be sick a couple of times a year. (If you’re lucky)
It’s going to be boob armor and just leather straps to attach it over a bikini.
If you happen to go the Unraid route (Unraid is fantastic, but not free) Spaceinvader One on YouTube has great tutorials. That’s where I got most of my info initially. It’s definitely worth it and I think a good deal easier. I am not good with code and really like having a visual interface and it helps with that. I am not a master at any of this but I’ve learned a lot and I’m pretty comfortable now. To do a YouTube series myself, I feel like I’d need to know more. But there are definitely resources out there to get you going. If you follow some of this and run into problems, feel free to reach out to me. Or the selfhosted community here has been amazing. But you might start with one of the aforementioned frameworks. I think it’s easier than going straight to docker. Docker isn’t difficult, but managing IPs and networks and ports can cause some frustration and confusion.
This guy has a pretty good install on home assistant operating system (HAOS is important. Not just home assistant, but HAOS). When you have HAOS up and running, you can add the repository that Alex Belgium has created. He’s done a great job at getting so many docker containers ready to go in home assistant. Huge, huge props to the guy. And once you have the repository, you can start to install the individual containers and it’s not terrible. I think Spaceinvader One’s videos can get you through much of it. Just skip the installation part and go to setup.
It’s a lot and I can’t go step by step but I will answer and help in someone’s journey as best as I’m able to.
Quality and ease. Torrents don’t always have enough seeders or they disconnect. You can get by on them, but it’s a case of getting what you pay for. I go through a lot of media as do my friends using my server. The cost is negligible and basically means I have no headaches.
Find a spare/cheap computer. Install home assistant/unraid/TrueNAS (bunch of platforms that run docker and have app installers but any of those three are pretty easy to get running). Pay for access to a Usenet backbone provider and one or two Usenet search providers. Black Friday will have some sales on yearly subscriptions. Install Jellyfin, Radarr, Sonarr, Jellyseer, and Bazaar (if you’re huge into subtitles like me). Alternatively, also install and setup Prowlarr. Get your Usenet stuff working in Prowlarr. Point Radarr and Sonarr at Prowlarr. Point Jellyseer at Sonarr and Radarr. Share with friends. I will personally handhold anyone who wants to do this for themselves.
I was getting at making the point that Republicans don’t leave because they’re not threatened. But I also get the emotions and fervor. I’m with you. I feel it and I wouldn’t take it away. It might be the only useful tool we’ve got
I’m not entirely disagreeing with you on your point, I just want to add that we have a system of cronyism. The taxpayers of a country (more specifically, the US) spend, say, $60 billion to feed an underdeveloped African country or area. The trick is, the politicians have made sure that the money goes to specific contractors. Who have no investment in using the money to solve the problem. Their business model is now not to fix something, it’s to make sure the program stays funded so they can keep getting $60b to do $3b worth of work with $2b worth of materials and make a profit and donate to more political campaigns to keep doing this on a greater scale. That $60b directly applied with government labor and government supervision would have worked. But cronyism prevented it at every step.
