  • Good time for disruptive projects like electrical work and power tools inside

  • A loan to be forgiven if every effort is made to be politically favorable to the administration. Its fucking insane.

  • Failing to mention that the 12 year pedofilic rape case was dismissed after the victims name was leaked and received death threats is too charitable

  • I use continue on really simple configs and scripts. Rule of thumb, you can't "correct" an AI, it does not "learn" from dialogue. Sometimes some more context my generate a better output but will keep doing what is annoying you.

  • I like working, I like coding and building systems, I like doing carpentry and building my food forest, I like cooking and making soaps. I like teaching my niece things and listening to her talk about what she's learned about. I like caring for my family and my girlfriend.

I truly do dream of labor, but it's not fucking possible to do it all by ourselves, and if one of these things took ALL of my time I'd fucking die, it WAS killing me to work that much tbh. Fuck the consumerist lifestyle brand bullshit. Its designed to leave you empty enough to want more to have you trade every last second for another empty fucking promise. Fuck ads, fuck Walmart, fuck Amazon, fuck gadgets and gizmos, and nic naks, and the "bigger" house, and the new car, fuck "luxury" that is just an empheral bag of hot air.

Every step I've taken to be able to just live my life has been worth. Fought for work from home, changed jobs just to keep it, now I can live near my family, and now can do chores and make food through out the day. Adblock, sponsor block, no radio, no magazines, burn junk ads as soon as get them, spam blocker on my phone. No Facebook, Twitter, etc. no any app designed to make you feel anxious to keep you on it, or to make you wish you had something. I've gotten my hand soap, body soap, conditionar dish soap, window cleaner, laundry soap, and softener all diyed from almost all stuff I can basically accidentally grow in my yard now. I make it for my friends and family too. I cook big things on the weekends with friends and split the meals up. Its fun and saves a ton of money. I have nearly all of my circle on Signal and Matrix now. I have a little homelab alliance going so far between us too.

Is my life perfect now? Fuck no, but again every step like this has been so much better than "retail therapy" where I work overtime for months on end to just be spiraling everywhere else.

  • No. For sure not. The interoperability of different tools and kit, from an outsiders perspective, kind of all over the place. Different companies have some internal interop, but generally its a mix between standards set by who ever is buying (branch, or org like NATO) and compatible with industry leader in relevant use case.

At least if you look at Defense companies GitHub, Earnings Reports, and Job postings and the militaries public statements.

  • The heavy traffic is probably a cause of stress and poor conditions for many living creatures in the area then, right?

  • Centralized services are honestly mostly ran on opensource. The network effects can still be massive bottle neck for freedom for the rest of us though

  • I name them like the story about them ... Its surely unsustanble but 12 nodes and three iot devices and it's still going strong

The AC is MrColdMizer The PC of cobled spare PC part is TheResurection One laptop is Wapwop and Gamer1 Etc, etc

I then use labels to keep track of conditionals like location, circuits, functions, etc

  • I recently got the homelab going and plan on expanding to a few family members as well.

12 nodes (some new Epycs for encrypted memory, some centreon ewaste for cold storage and background tasks, and a few in-between) so far. All Harvester HCI and Rancher. I run game servers, Ollama, and NFS for storing my encrypted back ups on it mostly at the moment, with a sync to send encrypted to Proton for that off-site.

  • Matrix has made good progress too. Honestly both are pretty good platforms.

  • If you need a collection of containers run it as a k8s pod.

Trying to do a small thing in k3s is super simple. Trying to do a big thing in docker compose is awful.

  • Is BRICS an actual org? Like isn't it just a collection of countries that, on paper, had a collective amount of economic weight to potentially sway the rest of the world economy.

Also I doubt, it's illegal to be gay, Russia is high on the support ticket here

  • Sure! Docker CE needs you to add their own repo for deb or RPM based distros. Podman is available on all of the big distros main repos.

The biggest feature to me is this one https://docs.podman.io/en/latest/markdown/podman-kube.1.html

Podman and docker are good getting started with container steps (nerdctl is also awesome), but just a starting point with k8s being the goal for almost every service and job deployment to me.

  • Honestly breaks from instant excitement. Spending some time coding, making soap, fixing up the house. If I spend three days boozing, playing games, watching shows, etc I'll be fucking wiped and spend some time just feeling like death afterwords.

If I instead stick to things that require some choring to get to the yippy stage I find I'm just more content.

  • Hybrid multi cloud is what every mature org moves too...

Like eventually you just cant justify being on only one cloud (businesses, cost and administrative risks), and if you have a consistent enough usage scaling into the cloud for the baseline is just an unjustifiable expense

  • Native system packages and more features as well.

  • Yep SLSA is more than just a trusted end point. Package signatures, reproducible builds, SBOMs, signed commits and more!
