So what do you about it?
For sure datas are everywere and will maybe try to remove it, but (as said to another person) what do you think about this: https://lemmy.ml/comment/18649355 Thank you
This is surely one of the best option but its time hungry to setup, read this reply: https://lemmy.ml/comment/18649355 What do you think?
Thank you, to be clear these datas are not really compromising but it’s still datas and I don’t want them on internet. My point of view was, is it better to leave it and fake that we are a “normie” (sorry for the word, a little bit negative…) and that I don’t care about being there or to try to remove it. My argument is that trying to remove it would make me shine like a glowstick by saying that I care bout it. What’s your opinion?
Waterfox try to remove some blobs of Firefox out of the box, so it’s better for the normal user
I don’t know what is spam for you, but when you get three message requests from three girls respectively named Tania, Clara and Ella that are contacting you about you carrier or your management skills, I call it spam.
The way that Signal integrates phone number is odd because it opens up the spam door. O understand why Signal use phone numbers this way (to make “normies” adopt Signal more easily like WhatsApp would do) but it not the best to kind of contaminate the network with the traditional cell network
Scams, girls wanting to chat with you, incredible money opportunities…
You can go to Simplex (for sure a lot of people here already done it) but if only privacy nerds get to this place this is not a great solution. We (I’m talking about us using Lemmy and chatting on SimpleX) must convince people, starting by friends and family to stop using these fucking socials then at this point SimpleX will be considered as a viable alternative
It’s not an argument. Think about regular mobile numbers, are they preventing spams? No.
Just the old .ssh/config file, works like a charm on all terminals :)
It’s rare for laptop to come with hardware switches for microphones but some of them are built with camera switches
Have seen a Dell Latitude 5400 (I think) with an hardware camera cover
In our scenario we are thinking about someone trying to sneak on you. But a jack mic cut off is not removing the internal microphone just putting the source to a different one. So if this person has access to your PC he coule surely access other sensors than the cut off jack
Personnaly I hate all the companies that are saying they are trust worthy because they are swiss, but nevermind this is not your question. Personnaly I wouldn’t recommended you at all a “prebuilt” NAS as later you will be stuck in a proprietary env that not gonna serve you well. So buy a cheap PC out of eBay and customize it to your needs
Edit : typo
If you want to be good in your mind, make it open source and publicly available.
The other solution is to keep it BUT think a little, if such a dev like you succeeded to make a such great working product don’t you think that five eyes (and others) could do a much more advanced product within a shorter period of time?
So if you don’t make it to the public someone will develop it m against your will
Could be super great
Thank you gonna check it
Good idea for normal people that are not really knowing how and what to put on such a device
In theory this is great, but in reality this will be used very badly by big corporates and all of this shit world
Because it makes a healthier base to work with or to simply use it without caring
Increasing privacy (and sometimes security)
