  • Also you shouldn't plug your phone into random USB ports, although i guess carrying a charge pass through adapter is an option.

  • One of the big issues is that IDs aren't free. So those that don't have IDs are generally low income. So you essentially disenfranchise poor voters. It's basically seen as a poll tax.

As to the proof of citizenship, many more do not have proof of citizenship, much less carry it on them.

  • But it's a Good Book don't ya know! If you just read one book it should be a Good Book.

  • And here I was worried that I'd have to make that comment. Definitely looks like the Willshapers or the Elsecallers glyphs.

  • Your comparison is spot on, but are there really places where you would need to pay 27% tax making $35,000?

  • I think their point is that it might be against Lemmy.world's policies, but not Lemmy as a whole due to its federation.

  • I've got it working on Linux as recently as about 6 months ago. I installed an older version of kindle viewer via wine. Not sure which version right now at the top of my head, but it worked great for me.

  • Parent-child incest has the power dynamic issue. It's basically impossible to consent in that relationship. As to siblings, I'd argue that the logical conclusion is that it is probably okay, unless there's a limit to how much birth defect risk is allowable, which as noted above, comes with other issues.

  • Sooo anyone in Congress going to ask how the executive branch unilaterally withdraws from Senate ratified treaties? No? I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

  • Are you sure it's engineering you adore. Left as an exercise for the reader? That's physicist speak.

  • Isn't this like the millionth time Cisco has had insecure settings?

  • Political Memes @lemmy.world

    Blockades, so hot right now.

  • Tokyo might be an example? It has plenty of buses, but the trains and subways are definitely the workhorses.

  • Thanks, Calvin's Dad!

  • Ah, that makes sense. Didn't realize FolderSync went through the WebDAV protocol. I'm used to manually copying things to my nextcloud drive and running a scan.

  • Does that automatically add it to the database or do you have a scan schedule?

  • I have it and immich set up. Nextcloud memories is fine, but for me the auto upload would randomly stop at some points. Overall ux with immich is better, but memories gets the job done.

  • I think saying sex is the same as gamete production is somewhat reductionist and not the usual definition either. And at a minimum that would create a 3rd sex, a body that did not produce gametes.

  • Sex in humans really isn't that binary. XXX and XXY exist for instance.

  • Unconventional, but meal replacement shakes could be an option. E.g. Huel or Soylent. They don't recommend using it exclusively, but there are plenty or anecdotal stories of people doing just that. They (at least Huel the one I'm most familiar with) is designed to be >=100% of all 27 vitamins/minerals with a set macro ratio.
