I don't really play anymore but occasionally I get the desire to play some Gran Turismo. The last three or four times I've had that urge, both the console and the game required rather large updates. Half an hour later, still not done updating.. desire to play gone with the wind. Rinse and repeat 3 months later.
I hope there's a future where providing the blueprints for wear parts is a common thing to do. It could make it easy to extend the life of a great many things, I reckon.
Reminded me of a comment a colleague made during a hotel stay in the US, "they got six people greeting me as I enter the lobby but no one to fix my shower".
The US embassy in Norway sent a letter to their electricity and heat provider (Hafslund), demanding that they stop any DEI type activities within the company.
Hafslunds' response was, in short, "we can stop providing power and heat, no problem".
It depends greatly on the care taken, of course, but im 16-17 years of using a smartphone I'm pretty sure I've never had a scratched screen. I've cracked a couple, but never scratched one. A scratched screen would warrant replacement under a refurb program, too, I would think?
The oleophobic coating would be a greater concern, to me, as a screen that attracts fingerprints can be annoying.
Me neither. It was just ridiculous. When it got to the point where the floor board on the Eclipse mysteriously fell out it was just too all too much, for me. How people who know and love cars ever could think that movie was great is beyond me.
I saw one of the later movies in the cinema, since my date wanted to see it. I felt it was some of the worst goo I'd ever seen, while my date thought it was "fantastic". I remember thinking "this isn't going to work out..", hehe.
A plug-in hybrid is cool, to me, in that I can charge it and use it as pure EV for my daily commutes, but if I forget/am unable to charge it it don't have to worry for a second. And I don't need to worry about the range on my 500km roundtrip to my cabin (full charge + full tank equals ~1100km range on my Prius).
Also, fuel consumption is relatively low, so whenever I do have to burn fuel I'm not breaking the bank.
Apparently a foldable OLED screen is, typically expected to last at least 200.000 folds. That's more than a 100 folds/day for 5 years. I'd take my chances on one, I think.
