  • Oooh very hot take

  • FUCK

  • as you progress, the scale of the "cringe" decreases

That's kinda what I figured the best case was

What do you mean by leave

I guess like how I used to consider myself a liberal, but now I don't

ideology is not a supermarket, you dont pick a flavor

Fair, I just meant the different branches, e.g. ML vs MLM

im not sure wha "heading to other categories of leftism means

Yeah I mean honestly me either - the answer very well could be "that doesn't exist." Broadly, I went liberal -> soc dem -> anarchist -> ML, which I think is a relatively common progression, and I guess the question is whether some folks have "-> ???" Ultimately it's not important, but I think my curiosity comes from discovering new bubbles.

would really recommend to look at marxist orgs in your area

    On it!

  • You're right, it's mostly hard when I share my bad takes with other (more liberal) folks, since ideally I'd like to have a consistent message.

I guess it's pretty easy to just say "I've actually been learning more about X and..."

  • Good perspective, thank you!

Keep and eye out for my next post, Dr. Strangedil or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Cringe.

  • askchapo @hexbear.net

Will I ever stop having cringe takes?

  • It's not actually small, I just... measure it in French inches

  • Oh sorry I didn't mean to leave you out! You've both got waaaaay more patience than I do

  • My god cowbee is a saint

  • I doubt there are enough people in ice to shut down the election in every county

    So far

  • Disorganized thoughts:

Most of us were libs at some point, and almost certainly didn't immediately accept leftist theory the first time we encountered it. Changing minds is a slow process, so don't expect anyone to come around in one conversation. One of my favorite quotes from Thomas Sankara:

As revolutionaries, we don’t have the right to say we are tired of explaining. We must never stop explaining. We know that when the people understand, they cannot help but follow us.

In the short to medium term, things will almost certainly get worse through capitalism's death throes and as climate change continues ramping up. Collectivism is inevitable though, and in the long term humans will live in a more equitable society.

If you just want to feel better, then I might recommend The Player of Games. The series is generally a happy version of humanity's future, and writing this made me think of this book in particular.

    Hope you feel better!

  • I for one welcome our trans overlords

  • Weekend at trumpie's

  • Surely this is satire... right?

They had me until they were checking on the pig's wellbeing.

    Painfully lame
