We've seen how their brand of self-sabotage looks when they're "winning" and decide they won't deliver for people. E.g. Lieberman, Sinema, Manchin... We know what it looks like when they're out of power, lots of easy fundraising and grandstanding and empty promises... here's how it looks when they hold no levers of power but are still winning. These conditions require the same manufactured "failure" of leadership, but this particular manifestation feels even more egregious. They're not just spiking the football one yard from the end zone, they're chest bumping each other after handing the ball to the defense.
I don't know about MTG personally, but I agree with you in a general sense. The USian civil religion of individualism fosters a selfish mindset. That propaganda you speak of is introduced before children even learn to read and speak. But there are bare spots which manifest in this way. I think the Qanon people with their MedBeds and debt jubilee are another example of this phenomenon. (I'm aware they generally have limits on who'd be allowed access to these programs but that's beside the point I'm trying to make)
The fascist nature of popular media is nothing new either but I have to wonder if its purveyors haven't stepped up their game. Social media has definitely proved to be a useful tool for them. They'll continue co-opting socialist agendas to peel off the exact people you're talking about, the heavily propagandized but otherwise reachable. I think this is what makes people like Tucker Carlson so dangerous. I count MTG in the same category, I don't give her the benefit of the doubt like I might for someone's Meemaw in Tennessee. (Don't mean to imply you are, of course, I'm just sayin)
I've been running this on my gaming rig for a while and it's been great. Each of the kids has their own account with their own games and files and such. At some point I switched from Nvidia to AMD GPU, and it handled that with no issues. I really like it, hope it works for you!
Hey, we have the same mobo. Be prepared to update the BIOS. I had intermittent crashes when changing power states until I updated mine
After reading some more, this is nearly bang on what I was looking for. Love that it auto-detects the media type (audio/video/data). I have a lil docker app server already, hopefully it plays nice with my external disc reader. Thanks again!
Is there a program (or suite) available on Linux that makes it as easy as possible to rip physical discs? I'm dreaming of a process where I just pop in a disc and it spits out a file, and I don't have to fuck with shell scripts or manually triggering anything
Less fig leaf, more jangly keys imo but yeah
