Used/refurbished Lenovo Thinkpad on eBay is worth looking into. Splurge on an X1 Carbon if you have the means. They're built to last so buying a few generations back is a good way to stretch funds. I'm running Mint on one and it's been a breeze. The build quality is hella premium and everything works.
Another PIT maneuver gone wrong? For those unaware, it's a thing cops are allowed to do in some states. They're no joke allowed to ram cars off the road during a chase. Porky with a gun wasn't dangerous enough, they have to let them play demolition derby on public roads now too.
I expect it'll come out this was yet another failed PIT. They'll try to obscure this as long as possible because they won't wanna give up the privilege.
When the kids jump over the poles, the kid in front doesn't jump high enough to clear theirs. The bot reacts, either by actively dropping the far end or allowing the kid's weight to push it down while still maintaining control. You can see another kid in the background make their jump and their partner keeps the pole more or less level. Pretty neat.
Really makes ya think... instead of being manifestations of economic and cultural control, prisons in the abstract, now the same forces of decline which left malls rotting and vacant, now this energy acts to fill them up again, this time without the facade of abstraction, but as literal prisons.
Those dopes should understand that producing cheap clones of out-of-production gear is like... the reason for Behringer to exist.
People should celebrate and welcome others joining their hobby, but that would require being an adult. You're dealing with jealous children in adult bodies, fuck their bullshit. A cheap clone that affords someone the ability to pursue their creativity will always be the ideal, worth way more than a boutique module that only comes out from under the dust cover for clout chasing glamour shots but otherwise is never fuckin used. Motherfuckers keeping their shit like it's a museum piece. Fucking make some tunes, you gobshite. With that kind of emotional maturity I bet their art is just dogshit!
For my part I'm trying to gently keep them away from blue MAGA thought (extremely prevalent here, my oldest shared with me some of their friends were engaging in Obama apologia re: deportations) and towards correct politics. I made sure to tell them take note of the friends who joined them and stay close, and think about what (if anything) they wanna do next. Their lives are busy too, after all.
My high schoolers participated in their walkout. One of em made a #FUCKICE poster, the other came home with a sign saying "Borders are manmade, human rights are universal," and I was so proud. They told their other friends' parents were reluctantly supportive at best. One of their friends with a MAGA father participated despite their dad threatening (and following through with) punishment. Made me feel a little weird. I know I didn't have that kind of sauce when I was their age. I'm really proud of them and their friends.
